OPEN FORUM in Luna County.

Is that Luna County, Illinois?
Is that Luna County, Florida?
Is that Luna County, Ohio?
Is that Luna County, Washington?

Can't be Luna County, New Mexico.

Open forum my butt.
Everything is still done behind closed doors.

Yes, I am sure you are correct. Appearances are what count in New Mexico, not substance.

I've been to some Ordinance 37 'open forums'. No one is listening to the citizens, least of all the County Commissioners.

THIS IS A NEW DAY AND A NEW WAY!! Local folks better start speaking out about the miscarriage of justice in Ordinance 37 to the new Commission. A smaller group setting is a perfect way to discuss issues of concern.

I wonder how many of you who constantly whine about actions made behind closed doors actually attend commission meetings.

According to the paper, only ONE Commissioner at a time is attending the Open Forum meetings......Two Commissioners present would constitute a quorum!

It's all smoke and mirrors, nothing will change here until some of these crooks have been tried and sent of to jail.

My belief is that there's some elected people, whether they're our state reps, commissioners, governors, etc. have made up their minds already on most issues and how they're going to vote on them, no matter what the public has to say at these get togethers. Maybe there are times the public could possibly sway their decisions on certain matters, but I'll bet it doesn't happen very often.

Until the first public fund & trust crooks are jailed for their crimes the vault door is still open for those who follow.

Saw where Congressman Barney Frank (D-MA) told the Gay Protesters in DC last week that they were wrong. Protests don't work, but phone calls to their offices are the most effective.

Listen up TEA-PARTY people! However...your parades, Town-Hall protests, letters, and faxes have certainly slowed Congress ramming a 1502 page Health Care Bill through by August, then November, and now January.

Media reported on his firing in January by the local City Council when two newly elected members (with a personal agenda apparently) were seated.

Reportedly, City Manager Sutherland was fired after a Council vote.....and immediately police escorted him out the door---AFTER he retrieved his personal belongings. Really professional!!! In his line of work...You win some & you lose some--that comes with the job.

Mr. Sutherland is a trained, professional, and knowledgeable manager who has brought...A NEW WAY AND A NEW DAY...to Luna County, as we have seen in recent media reports. The "good old boys" are being swept out the door if they were unqualified for OR not doing their jobs.

Locals citizens have long complained about county government and now that the clean-up has begun we watch and monitor the progress. One does not fire someone for doing the job they were hired to do!

Daily Horoscope for January 2

Libra

Instead of retreating into your own little world, get out there and spread some love and joy to all those around you. Be sure to pay close attention to the things that make others truly happy - often it can be the simplest of things. Libra is the most sociable sign in the Zodiac and you'll be in your element at the moment. You don't need to go overboard, though, and pick up everyone else's tab!
