We felt it in Bat Cave. It woke me up and seemed to rumble for a couple of minutes. We thought it was either an earthquake or maybe a boulder had fallen from above, kinda cool.

I'm in Fairview too. I thought my husband was moving furniture which would have been strange. Glad it was just an earthquake :)

I heard it but it sounded more like a semi trailer running into a pothole on my street which is NOT ON TOP OF A MOUNTAIN!!

I was wakened this morning, with dishes in my hutch rattling. It wasn't loud, but I felt it for a second, trembling the floor. We live on a hill, in town, but I couldn't understand what it was, (at first thought of an explosion off in a distance), until I read your clip. Thank you for keeping us up to date, on these happenings.

I live in McDowell County and felt the rumble around 6:08 am. I wasn't sure at the time whether it was an earthquake of my TV which has surround sound.

I'm located in McDowell county. I also felt the quake this morning. A similiar one happened back in August at around the same time of day. There were no damages to my single wide. It felt the same as the one in August, like a train was going by the house or a thunderstorm was directly overhead.

I guess my husband and I slept right through it in Forest City. But, my mother-in-law called and said she awoke and thought a car had hit her house!!! When I spoke with a friend in Hendersonville, they had not heard about the earthquake, but had experienced it and thought maybe a tree had fallen near their house!! Hate we missed it ourselves....but most glad and thankful that nothing has been hurt by it!!!!!!!
