It never made good sense that this trial was being held in Polk County. Moving it was a no brainer. My only question is why it wasn't moved farther away than Buncombe.

As for the Sheriff calling and/or talking to jurors, YOU GOTTA BE KIDDING ME!

Is he really that arrogant, or just that dumb?

Well, the fix may be in. I know this -- that the most unsavory person in the courtroom, when he should be the person of the highest moral character, is the judge. If the governor or somebody with political clout had anything to do with putting Zoro Guice on the bench for this case, it certainly does stink.

A book with pages enough to choke a horse could be written about this little man of corruption and chicanery. Guice retired, and then the governor appointed him to senior status as an emergency judge. As a loyal Democrat I cannot understand why the governor would reappoint this grimy little man to high judicial office and embarrass the Democratic party and North Carolina's judiciary. Easley would have to know about Zoro's shady past, would have to hold his nose, as he signed the appointment.

That's pretty unsavory coming from a fellow man of the Bar, like yourself towards Zoro.

Your scum just like he is, just you haven't had the exposure.

Guice is under an unofficial indictment. First, HIS indictment.

He put an elderly tourist under arrest for an entire day in Brevard, had the old man sit in the courtroom all day, then found him in contempt for straying into his parking place. WNC newspapers picked up this story and ran it for several days, denouncing the judge for his arrogance.

In Lenoir Guice closed the courtroom and wouldn't let people come and go and caused an elderly woman in a wheelchair to urinate on herself because he wouldn't let her go to the bathroom. For this she sued him under the Americans with Disabilities Act, and the NC's taxpayers had to pay over $100,000 in addition to attorney fees.

A woman left her abusive husband and lived with another man. The husband sued the wife's lover and the jury awarded him $50K. Crazy Zoro multiplied it by 10 to half a million dollars, to be paid by a man who had no property and made $12 an hour.
Zoro is a loose cannon.

The newspapers in WNC have had a heyday with his wacky behavior. I haven't touched on a tenth of the crazy, evil things he has done.

In McDowell County he trashed the U. S. Constitution by denying habeas corpus rights to a young lady who fled the household because of spousal abuse. The husband's attorney filed papers that were void, and Zoro tried to resurrect them by having the lady arrested and held so that new papers could be served on her, a violation of her basic rights. This is an evil, incompetent judge who should have been defrocked long ago.

Well, then I guess the ole Sheriff is probably shaking in his boots if this nut is going to be sentencing him if found guilty! What's the deal with S. Lindsay, is he on the up and up? He'll be defending the dental receptionist that embezzled and called in her hydrocodone scripts on a daily basis in Mars Hill recently.

In my personal experience Lindsay is an excellent attorney-- very capable, prepared, and experienced.

Heard Abril's "girlfriend" showed up at the court room and had a cat fight with his "wife." Seems Mr. Abril is not such a goody-two-shoes afterall!

In this day and age, it is the norm to have a little strange on the side. As for my first ex, she had a bunch of strange. LOL.

Transplanted,

I didn't want you to miss the opportunity to answer my question in the above post. You do have a satisfactory answer or were you called out again with you with your pants down and nothing to say for yourself.

Not sure, but I remember him complaining that the judges there give wrist-slaps to convicted pedophiles.
