I do not see dr white. Someone in my family does. And he does not over prescribe. Never had an increase in medicine in a year. Does not prescribe 200 pills a month either. I can't speak for his other patients, but I know he does not over Medicate the person I know that sees him every 2 months.

i can tell you first hand dr white is a pill pusher..point blank period..i used to live in pickens county, alabama(30 miles east of his practice)and i can give names and numbers of people who go to him monthly get over-prescribed for their "pain" and make "side money" from selling half of their scripts..dr white is a pill mill, but he is the only one who will over- prescribe within a 100 mile radius and anybody in the pain pill game knows this fact about this place..it is a shame that law enforcement dont shut him down, but i am sure the tax revenue(400-500 patients a month)keeps the local city council pretty happy in a small town like that..

that's odd also considering he is only open Monday thru half day Thursday and off on Friday. And waiting room is never full.

No I didn't.... Would I have a case against him? Doesn't seem like it... He already is in deep poop right now for his practice.... I knew it would happen sooner or later...

I'm a patient of Dr. White's, and to all of his critics out there, put yourself in my shoes for awhile. I've been a pain patient for a little over 3 years. I have degenerative disc disease. I have already had a cervical fusion surgery to repair c6-c7, have herniated discs at C5-C6, T12-L1, L3-L4-L5-S1, and a healed wedge fracture of L1. All of my herniated discs are bulging in, pressing on my spinal cord. The pain that it causes is incapacitating at times without management. I was referred to Dr. White a little less than a year ago, and point blank, his care is the only reason I've been able to function. I was put on duragesic (fentanyl) patches by the GP doctor that I was seeing prior to Dr. White. For those that don't know what fentanyl is, it's pretty much the strongest opiate out there, roughly 100 times stronger than morphine. When I started seeing Dr. White, he worked with me to wean off of those patches and put me on medications that were a whole lot less potent. He also gave me some at home physical therapy exercises to do, as well as an electrical stimulator to use. With his help, I was able to get my pain under control with a lot less medication than I was taking previously. Does this sound like a "pill pusher" to y'all? And as far as being a "walk in" clinic, that's BS. I had to get a referral from my old doc, had to get all of my records, as well as all of my old MRI's to his office before I could even find out if he would accept me. He personally reviews all records and MRIs before he accepts a patient. Then there is the mandatory drug testing that you have to do at every visit. I've seen him flat out refuse to see patients if he has any inclination that they are "drug seeking". He also does ESI (epidural steroid injections) in the procedure room he has in his office. I feel so sorry for all of his patients (myself included) that are pretty much screwed right now because the DEA wrongly sanctioned him. I've been trying to find a doc to see until he gets things squared away, and not one single doc within 200 miles of where I live will see me. As soon as I mention that I have back problems, I get treated like a criminal. Dr. White is a compassionate man who cares about his patients. I sincerely wish that all of the people that speak badly of Dr. White could live a few days as a chronic pain patient. Then they would know the pain, depression, helplessness, and just plain loss of hope that we are all feeling right now. Ever wonder why chronic pain patients have a higher than normal suicide rate? Imagine being in incredible pain 24/7 and there is nothing you can do about it. That's how we all (Dr. White's patients) feel right now. To all of my fellow patients, please hold out hope, Dr. White is doing everything he can to fix this situation. To Dr. White, thank you for caring and being a true patient advocate, the world needs more people like you and your awesome staff. To the DEA, please right this wrong and allow Dr. White to help his patients. I truly believe that he saves lives by helping people that no one else will. And to all of Dr. White's critics, unless you have been a chronic pain patient, you will never know how it feels to be where Dr. White's patients are right now. I hope some day that you are in the worst pain you can imagine, and no one will help you.

Well said...also a patient for legit reasons. I understand how the clinic may have a bad rep, as there will always be those who abuse drugs and find any reason to obtain them, but for many of us Dr. White has allowed us to live and cope with pain. I had no idea he had closed until I called for refills and was informed he was shut down. Is this related to the weight loss clinic? I hope he gets things straightened out, he is a great dr., and understands pain. The DEA needs to inform patients of the location of their files, and give them the option of picking them up.

I know in my case I was referred and my doc sent my MRI and all records. In my first visit he didn't even open my folder of records I brought. He sat down and asked me what my level of pain was? How often? Can I sleep well? And a few more questions. After that he wrote out a script for 180 lortabs a month and 30 Xanax. After about 4 visits I was hooked on pain killers, which I wasn't when I was referred there. I told him that the pils weren't working as good anymore. I told him this obviously because I had become hooked and wanted more and more. Without blinking an eye he wrote a script for another 60 Percoset a month.
Form your own opinions. I allowed myself to become an addict and doc white was my dealer. I got hooked fast and went down fast. Never had any drug or alcohol problems before in my life until then. It isn't doc whites fault I chose to take the pain killers but it is his fault that he overprescribed pain meds to a 160 pd man. How does a doc justify giving a person 180 lortabs, 60 percosets, and 30 Xanax a month for a bulging disk. And doing it all without ever laying a hand on the patient or ordering any further or additional tests.

White is not a diagnosing dr. Another dr has to refer you to him that's why he doesn't put his hands on you. He is a pain specialist. He is there to prescribe pain meds to people who need them. If you don't want to take pain meds then you go to an orthopedic specialist and probably surgery. They don't recommend surgery for me that's why I was referred to him. He sent me for an MRI even though my referring dr already sent records. I had to take a drug test every time I had an appt. he also gives shots for pain. Please have some compassion for people In pain with no other options and if you don't want pain pills please find the right dr. For your situation so you don't have to slander other drs names.

I am also a patient of whites I know how you are are feeling I have children that depend on me and I am having trouble finding a dr too. I'm hearing the DEA is trying to settle out of court and they said another dr should be in there soon I'm praying it doesn't take long. His workers are having a rough time too. Just hold on and try not to let the pain and depression take over.

I can't believe the rudeness coming from people. I have been a patient of White' for 3 years now. I was diagnosed as a child and was told the only thing I could do was to be put on pain meds. There is no fixing my condition. I have to live with it the best I can, if that means taking medication so I can work and take care of my children then who are you to say the dr. should be shut down or in jail. From the time I have been going there, I have taken drug tests, and have seen patients turned down. I had to have a referral to get in, and then he sent me for an MRI. I've seen patients from the CAFB, 911 operators, and Eurocopter employees. You evidentally are not overweight or in pain or noone that you care about is, or you wouldn't be on here bashing people and dr.s. have some compassion!

Well For your information Dr. White and his nurse practitioners both go over each and every one of your medical records so i suggest that you and Ms GOLDDIGGER find something better to do than sitting around wasting your time posting mean and unnecessary comments about doctors that you know nothing about. Have a nice day!

Once again, Brad, the only person who is at fault for your addiction is yourself. So please stop blaming your personal problems on doctors who are ACTUALLY trying to help their patients who have real medical conditions unlike Burtman who is running the pill mill!

For the last three years, everyone has posted about how dr. White is a pill pusher. This topic was suppose to be about finding a weight loss doctor not focussing on how a doctor treys his patients. The thing is can you get the diet pills there or not. Simple yes or no.
