If you like handling very large patients on a daily basis and transporting mentally ill people with BS symptoms go for it. They are a basic transport service. Very few emergencies LOL. Getting overtime is no problem. Cashing a bad paycheck is. However they will make it good when they get time. Good place to get comfortable with patient care unless you need a medic then ur on your own unless pt is in cardiac arrest. No insurance. But good luck finding a private service that does. And they demand you stay busy cleaning when not on a run. Good place to get your feet wet just don't use them for a reference. Frowned upon in EMS community

Stat Ambulance was formed from another company,(can not think of name right now)that went bankrupt and had severe issues with the owner lining his pockets with company money and misuse of company funds(rumore)-he still works there as a owner of 51% the other owner works there also- that may be why the checks r bouncing- if Stat got rid of this person, the ambulance service would not have this problem of not paying thier employees on time every time- but this real proable not happen since he is the "largest" stock holder in the company. Overall service is good, but getting ur paycheck on time every week, that may be something entirely different. good luck on ur decesion to work for them.

Good company to work for if u like to clean alot, wash the trucks, and in general be a good house cleaner, most people are extremly polite and treat the employee with respect-but they do have issues, you might ask them why thier doors had to be chained shut and had a police officer or gaurd gaurding the building. I believe it was last year. I didn't get paid that day or the next, but alot of EMT's did not.

I have worked for STAT for two years now. Much has apparently changed since some of these comments were written. For one, they have paramedics. There are several emergencies a day. Still lots of basic transfers but it's a good combination of emergencies vs. transfers. I've never had a problem with my check bouncing but I know a couple people who have. When it's happened, STAT took care of all the charges and even had letters from their bank showing it was bank error. The one owner, Jamie, is difficult to deal with and most people don't like him. But the other owner, Jason is a nice guy. He doesn't interact a lot with the employees but when he does, he's always fair and takes care of you.
As far as the employees, there are a few that complain constantly. I think there are a few of them at every company.
Overall, I love working at STAT. I've worked at Care and Rural Metro and its much better here. I guess like anywhere, there are some things that could improve but I'd say to apply if you're looking for a good private service to work for.

Stat writes bad checks wont cash anywhere? I guess they write lots of bad checks. Walmart wont cash my payroll check neither would my bank, Why? STAT has not fixed this problem and they need to figure out why there checks wont cash.. Maybe only cash at PNC bank? Even if they need to solve there payroll issues.

FBI served warrants today at Stat. Owner tax warrants that date back to 1999 and rumor has it his house is being foreclosed on.

I have worked for STAT for almost two years and I have had 6 paychecks bounce and one they still havent payed! And one reason our paychecks bounce is because the owner likes to buy pretty boys anything they want so he can get his kicks out of them! And if your not a pretty boy you are treated like garbage! It is impossible to get a job if you put them on your resume! They do not care about their employees and treat us like dirt! They try to terminate you if you dont agree to drive their ambulances that are not running right example: brakes are out, all turn signals are not working, back door randomly flies open! I wouldnt suggest anybody work for them. which im sure they wont be running very much longer! MY ADVISE STAY AWAY
