Judged: 1 1 1 I watched a good documentary on Leonard Cohen thanks to the Columbus Library, I'm enjoying a DVD of Canadian television from 1965: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ladies_and_Gentl... Ladies and Gentlemen... Mr. Leonard Cohen is a 1965 documentary about Leonard Cohen, co-directed by Don Owen and Donald Brittain, and written by Brittain. Produced by John Kemeny for the National Film Board of Canada, the film received the Genie Award in the TV-Information category.[1] The original idea for the film had involved documenting a tour of Canadians poets, including Irving Layton and Earle Birney; however, that idea was abandoned when the filmmakers decided the other poets would not serve as charismatic film subjects. |

Judged: 1 1 1 I didn't "say" anything about it... that was your obvious reading comprehension problem in evidence again. I did quote that from the official Doo-Nanny website. Here's what I posted, elsewhere: Another heads-up if anyone is coming from out of town for Doo-Nanny and plans to stay for the weekend, camping in the Woods Of Wonder is no longer free, either: http://doo-nanny.com/info/accomodations Accommodations Camping We have Camping spots available for purchase for 2012 now via Paypal. Mark your dates and reserve your spot! Spots are limited this year and selling out quick! Better hurry! You can get started with basic tents and sleeping bags, but this is another area of Doo-Nanny culture where we want to encourage extreme creativity. This is where tying stuff to the top of your car comes in.....creative Tarpology(we do a workshop on this), rugs, plants, hanging fabric, sofas, art, etc, etc, are some of the ways to take it up a notch, and this makes the village more creatively cohesive and enjoyable for all. Join with other campers to create a "neighborhood" with your own lounge and cooking fire. Create a game or other interactive element to your camp. Create, surprise, amuse......there will be a prize for the most creative encampment. Camper/RVSmall campers, RVs, utility vans. Camping spaces will be reserved for Artist along lakeside behind Artist Booths. Larger RVs have to camp in Possum Trot Camp behind the auction house. There is a modest camping fee of $50 per person for basic tent or car camping. This covers festival admission and admission to Saturday night celebration, 2 nights camping, and helps us provide both basic and odd services like portajohns, hot showers. Children under 5 are free, and we ask that all minors are supervised and with adult(s) in camp. Also, as much as we love them...PLEASE leave your dogs at home. If you plan on bringing your RV there are 16 sites available for $60 per person. Also, there are 10 extra private campsites available for $70 per person. You can pay ahead here by using the donate button. Make sure you write what you're paying for in the "purpose" box, and print your receipt. You will need this for check in. Bring that along and we will direct you to the best camping spots. If you prefer to pay by check or cash please arrange ahead of time via email or snail mail. Camping is limited book ahead. Pay for camping here... Doo-Nanny Participant Guidelines 1. Join the creativity...make some art, collaborate, pitch-in, dress-up, learn a new dance step. 2. Leave as little trace as possible....leave your campsite better than you found it, and take as much of your trash with you as possible. 3. Be radically responsible and respectful. Leave any dogs, guns, or drugs at home, and if you drink, be legal and responsible. To summarize: $50 per person (not per campsite) Motels/Hotels Closest Motels/Hotels are in Phenix City Alabama Water and Showers We do have good well water and solar showers and WORM POWERED outhouses for men and women. Now boasting several wood-fired HOT showers and a clawfoot tub in the woods. The Hillbilly Spa is being improved and updated frequently. Hope this helps and hope to see you all at the 2013 Doo-Nanny! -- Music & poetry from Will Dockery & The Shadowville All-Stars: http://www.reverbnation.com/willdockery |

Judged: 1 1 1 Are you referring to the Dick Tracy comic strip back around 1967-68, when the spaceship was disguised as a grain silo? I'll have to look someday and see if any of those Science Fiction/spy style Dick Tracy adventures are archived anywhere. Try Google "Dick Tracy" + "silo" and see if something appears, the memory is sort of dim beyond that right now. -- Will Dockery & The Shadowville All-Stars: http://www.last.fm/music/Will+Dockery/Will+Do... |

I am by no means Shadow Banned, I check this board three or four times a day but I am fine to let Will Dockery have his things he posts about and all the other stuff. I post more about politics and social issues. The whole shadow banning thing is interesting and I am trying to learn more about it. Thank you for inquiring about me. |

You are a great comedian, you have made numerous posts that have had me laughing uncontrollably, I am glad to see you return from the depths of shadow banning. If your Internet service provider changes your IP address eventually you can resume posting from there, google it for more info. If you have any topics you would like to see as a topix do not hesitate to mention it to me and I will make something for it, you could PM it if you were registered but that's ok. I will work on finding more political discussions more also. Thanks for the input and keep it up with the comedy. |

Hello Jim... I knew you were doing okay since we've discussed Gram parsons recently. I still think you should write a book about those early days, with some photos it would be sure to sell some copies, Gram Parsons is being discovered by the younger kids, and is being recognized as a founder of /New/ Country music. -- Under The Radar / Will Dockery & The Shadowville All-Stars: http://www.reverbnation.com/willdockery/song/... |

Will, Thanks for thinking I could write a book about my experiences but that is is just not me and believe it or not, Gram wasn't like the big star type. He had talent and was a great singer but I cannot understand the attraction young people have to him now. He had some good songs but lets face it, he put out some not so good stuff too. I remember my youngest daughter being enamored with Jim Morrison many years after his demise, Jim Morrison and Gram were both portrayed to be what they weren't after their deaths and sorta took on a mythological status that isn't really realistic to who they were. Its kind of funny that Gram died yet Chris Hillman lived and yet no one cares about him, but he's still around making music like Gram would be. Sometimes the myth gets bigger than the reality of the man, but that's okay, it makes life interesting don't you think. I am sure if Gram ever makes it into the Country Music Hall of Fame, somewhere in the great beyond he'll be laughing his ass off. |

The poem isn't by Robert W. Service, but by Edmund Vance Cooke: http://www.happypublishing.com/blog/how-did-y... How Did You Die? Did you tackle that trouble that came your way With a resolute heart and cheerful? Or hide your face from the light of day With a craven soul and fearful? Oh, a trouble’s a ton, or a trouble’s an ounce, Or a trouble is what you make it. And it isn’t the fact that you’re hurt that counts, But only how did you take it? -Edmund Vance Cooke |

Yes, the Comedian is an old friend of mine but since he obviously wants to remain anonymous I don't let on I know who he is... he was a big figure back in the 1990s Columbus scene. -- Shadowville Speedway CD on Artemis Records: http://www.artemisrecords.net/dockery.html |
