Obama returns today from his Hawaiian vacation to restart negotiations with Republicans. But with only days remaining to avoid the massive tax increases and spending cuts that experts said could throw a still-weak economy into a recession, what can he do?
Previous exchanges between Obama and Boehner:
Boehner to Obama: "I put $800 billion [in tax revenue] on the table. What do I get for that?'
Obama to Boehner: "You get nothing. I get that for free."
At another point, Boehner told the president he wanted a deal similar to the one he rejected during their debt ceiling talks of 2011. "You missed your opportunity on that," replied the president.
The president refuses to compromise or work with the House.
Whether right or wrong, the republicans have conceded back to previous plans, even one by Nancy Pelosi, yet now she is against her own previous plan.
Obama and the democrats are trying to destroy the republicans, once and for all...but at what cost?
Eveery word of this drivel is lies......conservative all lie, especially Boehner...the little orange man.....

Not at all, the Republicans are doing that to themselves by narrowing their base of voter appeal.

Obama won.

Romney lost.

Get over it.

I'd say using quotations marks is wrong..However the content is accurate..Obama considers his reelection as a mandate..Even though he only recieved 51% of the popular vote. Obama needs to realize we expect him to WORK WITH the House, not to DICTATE to it..

exactly and President Obama has bent over backwards to work a deal and the Orange Cryer keeps moving the goal line. He think he's the guy in control and he's going to push it over the cliff before he fails his Messiah Norquist....

More like your memory, Jim.

That was a direct reference to what Gore supporters were told when they were complaining as you Republicans are now:

Bush won.

Gore lost.

Get over it.

The majority of Americans chose Obama, so rather than trying to block him, maybe the Republicans should step back and see what the man can do.

Obama won.

Romney lost.

Get over it.

Obama was duly re-elected to do a job... the losers need to step back now and let him try to do his job.

Yes, I'm real... not so sure about you though... heh.

Well of course there are elements of humor in most of the work I do... but love it or hate it, whatever flaws my art may have, it easily outstrips what you do... which turns out to be "nothing".

Agreed! Also mandatory tax increaese for the rich and to some extent the middle-class. If any in the middle class went along with the deceitful George BushCheney Iraq war than they will have to start paying for it, maybe next time they'll look before they leap.
