Well there was some people playing music down on Broad today for the end of that Augusta to Columbus marathon, was those any of your people Dockery?
Man I felt really bad for them cause they were beyond bad, hate to be blunt but it is what it is.

I'm not sure who was playing down there today, actually. Curious who it was now...

I thought it was American Roommates that played down there. I'm not 100% though. If it was, I like them. They're young and new and will get tighter as the band grows but they've got a good sound that I dig and they're all nice kids.

Okay, I think I heard some of American Roommates on Rverb Nation.

And as you know, Josh, Poanna, another great local band, are returning to The Loft:

With over 600 videos and countless hours, I seriously doubt that anyone here took too much time to check it out. If you did, you would find much talent.
Indeed, Rusty, and with a local showcase coming up in June, everyone can have a chance to come out and enjoy the great talents the Columbus-Phenix City music scene has to offer:

For newcomers to Topix.com , an explanation of the smearing, bashing and other personal attacks so common on the Forums, and the anonymous mentality behind such agendas and grudges.

The "problem and animosity" seems to be a widespread problem with anonymous trolls hiding behind fake names and posting lies and smears against people.

Unfortunately for these anonymous troll, I fight back and correct their lies and misrepresentations about me... and label them for the trash they are. Truth hurts, eh?

The fact is that I'm just a real person posting here, while anonymous trolls create these threads apparently from some obsessed agenda they have to attempt to smear my name, libel, and otherwise misrepresent me. And from further reading, it appears to be a sort of Topix.com phenomenon that some don't seem to be able to deal with as well as I have.

For example:

http://www.nytimes.com/2011/09/20/us/small-to...

"...a social media Web site called Topix, where they write and read startlingly negative posts, all cloaked in anonymity, about one another. And in Dee’s Place, people are not happy... called Topix a 'cesspool of character assassination.'[...] In rural America, older, poorer remote population lagged the rest of the country in embracing the Internet, the growing use of social media is raising familiar concerns about bullying and privacy... hubs of unsubstantiated gossip, stirring widespread resentment in communities where ties run deep, memories run long and anonymity is a novel concept.'Something about rural culture seems to make people want to have conversations in public,' Topix, a site lightly trafficked in cities, enjoys a dedicated and growing following across the Ozarks, Appalachia and much of the rural South, establishing an unexpected niche in communities of a few hundred or few thousand people..."

And, of course, there's a difference between free speech and libel. The posts made here and elsewhere on Topix.com by the trolls you asked about generally tend to fall into the latter category.

I've been to Columbus to go out many times and can say the people I heard were nothing special, but its like that just about everywhere you go.
You always got musicians who think the are better than they are, it just seems Columbus is full of them, that's all.

Well you know the old saying, those who can, do, and those who can't sit back and complain about those who can.

Good luck on finding some music you like...

I come down and stay with friends on some weekends in Columbus and would have to agree with you.
What they lack in quality they make up in quantity, LOL.
I guess you missed the whitewater music weekend they had. It was fantastic but for the every weekend thing I agree it's not so good.
You should try the Loft for live music in Columbus because they will get some pretty good people in there every once in awhile, but check before you go.
I heard a really good band but I cannot remember the place, it was almost under another venue that was geared for the older crowd, I think the older place was called Balloo's or something.
Anyway this place was under it and totally separate and it was probably better than the Loft although I have only been once.
But anyway, Columbus has alot of scrubs in the music world but you can sometimes sift through the caca and find something decent.
Columbus is a beautiful looking city though.
