Hey, at least they serve alcohol so it eases the pain, LOL.
No amount of alcohol could make that dude who posts all the links to his awful singing vids sound good.
A true Columbus treasure, ROFLMAO.

Yes, a great Poll, and one of my favorite subjects, the local music scene.

And for those unfamilar with the music scene in Columbus-Phenix City then and now, the scene is also thriving with talent of every variety:

These videos can be viewed by Phenix City residents on East Alabama Cable-TV channel 7 throughout the days and nights.

Follow the link above for a comprehensive overview of the local Columbus-Phenix City music scene with videos from local talent both young and old.

Hmmmm... well, thanks for giving your opinion, although your exprience with our local music scene seems quite limited... here's a link showing the great variety of musical talent to be found here in the Columbus-Phenix City area:

Well Will Dockery, I don't ever frequent the establishments that play the local music scenes music but clicking on the links that you got on here I can say that the Columbus music scene leaves alot to be desired.

Well thanks for having a listen and giving your opinion... no, the Columbus-Phenix City music scene isn't perfect, but there's definitely some hard working talent on these stretts.

For another example, here's this particularly strong set from most of the local performers, including me on a couple of the songs, the tribute show to our friend Clyde Baker, a singer-songwriter who suddenly passed away in April:

http://youtu.be/HON4gaacGsU

"Seems To Be No Time", written by Basil Fitzpatrick originally sang by Clyde Baker, vocal interpretation by Will Dockery / "Bang A Gong" written by Marc Bolan, vocal by Will Dockery / "Nothing & Nothing" written by Clyde Baker, vocal Basil Fitzpatrick / "Tonight Is Mine" written by Clyde Baker, Vocal by Derundo Jenkins / "White Rabbit" written by Grace Slick, vocal by Gini Davidson / "Gloria" written by Van Morrison, vocal by Dan Davidson.

Again, thanks for your time and perspective, and have a nice day, "Dadgum".

I too paruesed your music links and can say that there were glimmers here and there but nothing to write home about.
Why do you put it out there for critique?

That's an odd question, "John"... why would you expect someone to put their music "out there" for critique?

For critique, obviously.

Why do you get all bent out of whack when folks don't like the Columbus music "scene".This poll asked a question and I gave my opinion.
I watched most of the videos you linked to and like I said there were a few brief moments.
Best of luck with your endeavor and with whatever it is you are hoping to accomplish.

Nobody got "bent out of shape" over anything, "John Ellis", I was just perplexed by your ignorant question why we would put the videos up for critique, which answer should be obvious.

Thanks for giving your opinion, and here's the link again for any other reader out there who want to find out for themselves about the local talents in the Columbus-Phenix City area:

Yeah, the musicians in the videos are very individualistic, and I reckon their music just isn't for everyone.

Thanks for your opinion amd here's hoping you do find something out there in the Columbus-Phenix City area you do like... and that you'll come back and share the news with us.

That's what the Columbus Forum is all about, anyhow... finding what is GOOD about our little town.

I'm a be fair on this , we do have alot of talent not just when it comes to rock music either. Let me try to explain I'm from right off buena vista road southeast Columbus, alot of local dudes are also aspiring to get into the music business. For example a rapper from off of Wellborn DK he managed to get one song of his played commercially on XM radio God knows how many times and that may seem like thats nothing for somebody from east Columbus to actually get they're song put in rotation on satellite radio that's a giant accomplishment whether you liked dude's music or not, you have plenty people with talent rappers, and rock artists but there are alot of duds though. Seem like everybody and they're mama' wanna rap now. I support the local music scene as much as I can it'd be nice to see somebody from the town blow up and make something out of themselves especially in the music industry simply doing what they love I can't knock that.

Especially when the local radio stations don't really support local artists or bands like most other cities do. Just my take on the subject though.

With over 600 videos and countless hours, I seriously doubt that anyone here took too much time to check it out. If you did, you would find much talent.

There are definitively some good bands and musicians in Columbus and Phenix City.
The problem and where the animosity is coming from for the most part falls at the feet of Will Dockery.
Most people can not stand him for his abrasive character and by proxy they will not appreciate anything that he associates with.
It's unfortunate that folks feel that way.. Will is a good guy.

Writes the anonymous troll hiding behind the fake name of "Hank"... carrying a "Will Dockery" obsession almost as big as the chip on his shoulder.

And who is so delusional that he thinks he speaks for "everyone", when actually he's just posting here under multiple fake identities.

And, sorry to say, only a shallow fool would believe a word of what you spew about me, "Hank"... but there's one born every minute so you're in like Flint, eh pal?

Obsess on... you know you can't help yourself.

Hello Rusty...

Since youre new here, a bit of a heads-up:

This Poll was created by the anonymous troll hiding behind the fake name of "Hank"... carrying a "Will Dockery" obsession almost as big as the chip on his shoulder.

Rusty, there's a "cyber-bully" dynamic here that runs all through Topix.com ... it even made the New York Times.

And "Will Dockery" is the target of the Columbus Forum... but guess what?

I get kicked, I kick back.

I would agree that when Will uses Topix to "share" his or his friends music or musical event he is setting himself up for ridicule. Maybe not because the quality of the musicians but because Topix is not really the place for that, most people get on here to complain about whatever and to attack that which they hate.
I could start a post about some new movie I watched and liked and 9 out of 10 would say they hated it and I'm a idiot for posting, that's just the way it is.
Will, you seem like a nice guy but you are unrealistic if you think you can post what you do and get nice replies
