From Maine To The Gulf

Hikers who reach the end of the Appalachian Trail in north Georgia could eventually have the option of continuing another 500 miles via hiking and water trails along the Chattahoochee River.

I have only been able to walk short day or overnight portions of the Appalachian Trail. I don't think many people can take 3-4 months of there life off to walk the whole thing especially now in this economy.
It would nice to be able to take a weekend hiking or canoe trip to Eufaula from Columbus.
