Everyone knows the story of Robert Johnson and the legend of him selling his soul on a crossroad in the Mississippi delta for talent.
Let's discuss the local legend of Ma Rainey and her gold tooth here, the stories are really alike in many ways.

Well well well, we gonna talk about Gertrude Ma Rainey?
The think that most folks don't understand is she grew up doing minstrel shows for white people there in Columbus. She never heard no blues the in Columbus but when she married Pa Rainey and traveled around the south doing minstrel shows she came into contact and heard real blues.
Then all of a sudden a like she became a "Blues star" that's why people be thinking them things.
Her manager said that " when she started singing, her gold teeth would sparkle"
Y'all speculate all you want but you ain't far from the truth and how it all went down.

What are you trying to say?
That Ma Rainey's talent came from her gold teeth?
As bizarre as that sounds I can believe it
