> J. Corey Connor:

"Hieronymous House" <[email protected]>

1) My Child

2) Gypsy Tramp

3) Problems at Salisbury Fair

The poems:

My Child

Morning dew soaks bare feet
Walking in early hours of dawn
Honeysuckle sweet
And birds summer song
Fills the air
A child again out on the lawn
Down in the clover and daffodils
Looking for fairies
They must be real
Climbing up high
In the Chinaberry tree
White linen billows on a fair breeze
Nighttime falls and fireflies fly
We dance with the moon
And the stars in the sky

---

Gypsy Tramp

Gypsy Tramp
Vagabond soul
Staying warm by the campfire coals
Many miles to travel
Freedom road
Gypsy girl is going home
From the Berlin Wall
To the Golden Gates
Getting home
She anticipates
Hanging up her walking shoes
Guitar in hand
She sings the blues

Problems at Salisbury Fair

Silver badged shadow boxing lady cop,
she carries a gun.
She sits at the piano with a song
tight as a nun.
We face our reflections
in the city of fishbowls.
Smoking with a journalist
over by the window.
Shakes her Dickinson hair
Strolling by Salisbury Fair.

She quietly turns and runs,
from a silly basement bar.
Too much fun, it was mostly a waste.
Helped her stagger to her trailer
after drinking beer and sniffing paste.
Some of this and a lot of that
she shakes her tits with tats.
Grinning from the stage
with her over sized dentures.
Clicked her door to the night
shutting out new adventures.
Shakes her Dickinson hair
Strolling by Salisbury Fair.

The stone bag empty,
odd little Sampson in the night.
Following the thunder.
stinging words in a street fight.
Repay me in kind, running for my life
her sweet smell on my mind...
I wave in passing.
Shakes her Dickinson hair
Strolling by Salisbury Fair.

This be rigged. No one won a free ticket to DEL'S. No one won a free hat and ab-lum. It seem like you should give the winner an ab-lum. why not. You know about Persimmons but not free ab-lums.
The instructions on voting was given in the earlier post.

Well, the rewrite of "Problems at Salisbury Fair" is coming soon, Horatio... are you still out there?

Would dig seeing what you had in mind, H.
