"Cheshire Bridge Road" written by Will Dockery, Henry Conley & Geno

Cheshire Bridge Road

Early Sunday morning walking with you on Cheshire Bridge Road
passing sound of radio.
Gee, I think it'd be nice to have a couple of cups of coffee with you
and watch morning come.

Walking on Cheshire Bridge Road early Sunday morning with you
barefoot in the dew.
Sunlight burns away until the fog is gone
and brings in the dawn.

Every time I see your face
it reminds me of music.
Every time I see your face
across that bar.

Early Sunday morning walking with you down Cheshire Bridge Road
passing sound of radio.
Still would like to have a couple of cups of coffee with you
and watch morning come.

Last month, Atlanta City Councilman Alex Wan kicked a hornet's nest in January when he announced plans to clean up Cheshire Bridge Road, which some have branded Atlanta's red-light district

North East Atlanta, anyway.

You know Columbus Georgia also has a Cheshire Bridge Road, just off Moon Road, don't you?

I had a Chesire Cat,... lived to be 28 years old,..

you don't have a song about The Camp Creek Train Wreck

It has been written about by many. The basic fact is that on the stormy
night of June 23, 1900, the train bound for Atlanta came upon the washed out trestle of Camp Creek
north of McDonough.

I'm seeing what you mean here:

http://www.bizjournals.com/atlanta/print-edit...

Adult businesses began moving onto Cheshire Bridge in the early 1980s, according to the 1999 LCI study. Soon, it was known “as the best place in Atlanta to buy pornography, view erotic dancers and partake in other adult activities,” says the study.
But with its proximity to sought-after neighborhoods and employment centers in Midtown and Buckhead, Cheshire Bridge has “all the pieces you want for a great revitalization,” Wan said.

I've long wanted to write about the Circus Train Wreck Tragedy of, I think 1909 or 1919, I forget the daye this morning, that happened just East of Muscogee Junction, around the place where the tracks cross present day Forest Road.

Maybe one day...

Back to Cheshire Bridge Road, I see the changes have been delayed:

http://wabe.org/post/plan-targeting-cheshire-...

In 2005, the city rezoned the area to allow only establishments that encourage walking, biking, and streetside shopping. However, businesses that were already there like Southern Nights Video and the Dollhouse strip club were grandfathered in and couldn’t be displaced.

"We have thriving and viable businesses who are being told that they they will lose their property rights due to this ordinance and as a result...[it] constitutes a taking of private property and violates both the Georgia and U.S. constitutions," said Laurel David, an attorney for a group of property owners along the corridor.

You blatantly ripped off the music from the song "Heart and Soul", if you ever tried to record this you would be sued, you are so dam unoriginal and tasteless in your topics that you write about.
I always gave you the benefit of doubt but now I am convinced: YOU SUCK.
Think about that and get back with me.
I didn't actually write the music to that song, only the lyrics set to Woolfolk and Conley's music.

While there is a slight similarity to the old song you mentioned, the melody is actually put together very differently, as is my vocal meoldy and subject matter.

Good point, though, and well taken.

Hope this clears up your confusion.

No, actually the "Cheshire Bridge Road" lyrics and melody are almost nothing like the old standard "Heart & Soul".

Here's mine, compared to the older song, and you can see how different they are at a glance:

Cheshire Bridge Road

Early Sunday morning walking with you on Cheshire Bridge Road

-Will Dockery (words)/ Geno Woolfolk & Henry Conley (music)

And an excerpt of Fred Loesser's "Heart & Soul", the rest can be found at:

http://www.lyricsmode.com/lyrics/f/frank_loes...

Heart and soul, I fell in love with you,
Heart and soul, the way a fool would do,
Madly...
Because you held me tight,
And stole a kiss in the night...

Heart and soul, I begged to be adored,
Lost control, and tumbled overboard,
Gladly...
That magic night we kissed,
There in the moon mist.

-Frank Loesser

As you can see, my poem and song is nothing like the older song, though I know the piano riff is reminiscent of the old song, a homage of sorts.

I think alot of it has to do with how his father treats his mother. If his father was respectful towards his mother, that's what the son sees and absorbs, and that's probably how he'll treat women in his life.

If his father has been abusive to his mother, then he thinks that's the "norm" and will "carry out the tradition" with whomever he marries. This is from a psychological viewpoint.

But, you're not wrong, either. If his mother hammers away at him he could become abusive to his wife as well.(Like, getting back at Mommy.)

No, I already demostrated how the lyrics and melody have nothing in common with the song you mention.

The piano arrangement is played in a similar way, but even there it is an aoriginal melody, at mostr a homage to a classic.

Sorry Panther, but it is obvious there's nothing in my lyrics or melody that is the "same" as the classic song you claim to have listened to.

Listen again, and let me know if ANY of my lyrics or singing is in the other song.

If so, please post your findings here, rather than just glossing along with false statements of them being "the same. I expect better from you, of all people.

Are you a female, Panther?!?

I never guessed... you know the character in the poem does more than just drink coffee and walk in the dew with the girl, right?

Something, I'll note, has never been written about in any other song that I know of... haven't checked, but since it really happened to me and I wrote about it, i'm %99 certain that it is completely original.

Just sayin'...

Come to the Old SoHo open mic tonight, hosted by Tripp Wrigley, for some great examples of the best of the Columbus-Phenix City music scene!

Tentative plans are for me and the Shadowville All-Stars to do a rehersal set there, as well... in prep for the upcoming Hogbottom and Doo-Nanny!

No, I am a male.
I guess everyone is saying that girl is a stripper but just reading the words on my own I don't see where they are getting that.
I don't really know what the song is about, its not as clear as "Truck Stop woman" was. You are kind of vague with this song Will.

No original thought from you, you lack originality and are completely and utterly illegitimate.
Add that to your pals ripping off the music of the song "Heart and Soul" and your song is a complete SHAM.
I remember the Main Street song and his song really doesn't have that much in common with it, I guess.
