With this recipe you will be able to make your very own unbelievable barbecue sauce. Once you master this simple recipe you can add and subtract different ingredients to give the sauce your own personal flair. Use this as a marinade or simply as a dip.
1/3 Cup Chopped Onion (chop very small)
1 Clove Garlic Minced
1 Tablespoon Olive Oil
3/4 Cup Bottled Chili Sauce
1/2 Cup Beer (use a beer with full flavor not "lite")
1/4 Cup of Honey (less for Columbus Style)
2 Tablespoons Worcestershire Sauce (Vinegar for Columbus style)
2 Table Spoons Brown Sugar ( Less for Columbus style)
1 Tablespoon Yellow Mustard (add more for Columbus style)
In a medium saucepan cook onion and garlic in hot oil until the onion is tender. Stir in chili sauce, beer, honey, worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, and mustard. Bring mixture to a boil, stir to prevent burning. Reduce heat, and simmer uncovered for about 20 minutes or until it is a nice consistency, stirring occasionally. Remember when your sauce is hot it will be thinner then once it is cooled.
Once cool pour into squeeze bottle refrigerate and use as you see fit. Enjoy and have fun making the sauce your own.
