Maybe the man is in pain and can't afford pain killers - or a doctor for that matter.

Or maybe his mother, father, or wife is in pain and cannot afford medical attention.

That doesnt give him the right to point a gun in someones face and steel from them. There are clincs he or his family can go to get help. That is no excuse..Why does our sociey always have reasons to blame something or someone else for someones actions? This person has a brain and it needs to be screwed on tighter.

He is making money off of it as we speak...People who really need it cant have it because he is a dishonest person. This is what the world is coming to. Dishonesty, lack of trust and a bunch of punks who dont care who they hurt or how they do it. Pretty scary..

Maybe all of the social programs that are used to provide illegals with free healthcare were unavailable to this AMERICAN! Sad, Yes!

I'm not into excuses either but desperate times require desperate measures. He could have someone in his life who has terrible pain. Is there nothing that could make you commit a crime?

If someone is in severe pain you go buy/steals some Hydrocodone or some oxycodone you do not STEAL fentanyl. What the hell is this guy thinking? This has to be an addiction situation not a sick family member situation. Fentanyl is an intravenous pain killer not a pill that you pop or a shot that you inject, it hangs in a bag and drips and drips and takes forever! My mother is a cancer nurse, she gives this to patients that are DYING on a daily basis this is not some drug to get your kicks off of. This man needs to be caught and put into a Rehab center ASAP, he needs real help and needs to get it really soon!

You can also get it as a transdermal patch.

Certainly there are other options aren't there?
Pawn the gun, go down to Civic Center Park and get some "help".

FORCED to kill me? Are you dreaming? Addiction is no excuse to slam a gun in my face. How is this different from robbing a bank?

Anyone who's desperate for narcotics must be a moron to rob a pharmacy for fentanyl patches. It would be easier to knock off a 7-11 (sorry, that sucks) and score over at the park. I don't understand.

Not exactly. Oral transmucosal maybe, as in the Actiq(R) lozenge for pre-procedure sedation. I suppose you might be able to DRINK enough fentanyl to get off, if you could find enough and not chuck it up. There's not much demand for oral fentanyl. IV administration is the tits.(Although I have heard of people cutting up and smoking the patches, sometimes with fatal results, boo-hoo.)

Either way, the puke probably just heard about fentanyl somewhere. A PATCH, for Christ's sake?

Anyway, robbing a pharmacy is a Federal offense, and the circumstances are irrelevant. Not my problem. As a hospital pharmacist, I'd like to think that I'm a caring professional and my job is to help people. There are friends, family (you know what I mean...), methadone clinics, NA, and a ton of other ways to deal with narcotic problems. Christ, as a healthcare professional I want to help people, and the thanks I get is a Glock in the face?

Doesn't that make you wonder whether he already knew about the patches somehow (HOW did he know about the patches?)? He knew what he wanted and took only that. It just makes me wonder...

I think your father abandoned you when you were younger (maybe he went back to MEXICO) that is why you think you should blame everything on illegals!!
AND remember MEXICANS are the main drug dealers, why couldn't he get his drugs there???
