Can anyone give me information on this league? Is it fair? Is it about the kids learning the fundamentals of baseball & having fun? Or is it a scam as in to who you know?

I was at a game recently, and seen some little boys not getting to play, and when they finally got the spotlight, they was good. So its confusing me to why those Coaches would allow them little boys sit there looking very broken hearted. One of them is on a green & yellow team. He looked so broke cause the coaches played him very minimal.
I wanna talk to my sister and see bout signing up my nephews, but after what I have seen , I need a little more info on it. Please any positive or negative feedback would be great. Thank you.

My two boys participated in t-ball, basketball, football and soccer during their elementary years. I found the most fair league to be the basketball. Seemed like all the kids got fair time on the court, and they played their best, learned the rules and had fun. Baseball is very political, as is football.

Yeah that's what I'm seeing. I don't like it. It should be about every single kid that is signed up. From what I'm seeing and hearing, their too competitive. And they treat all kids different based on their exprience.

Send to me only an idiot assumes after watching one game tha you could throw a blanket over the whole league. It also seems as if you ask a question when you already have come to an answer. It doesn't really matter what you want anyways though, they are not in the habit of signing kids up to play with only a week left in the season!

You better believe its political. And it's really a competition between the coaches. Next time you watch a game, see if the coach's kid isn't playing shortstop, 2nd base or pitching. And they will usually be one of the first four batters in the lineup. Those coach's don't care about your kid.

If you have a problem with the way the coaches are handling their team, why don't you volunteer YOUR time and coach! Then YOU can put YOUR kid wherever the hell u like.

I used to be a coach in this league. The reason I am no longer a coach is because I became one of those coaches I dispise. I wanted to beat the other coach. I wanted my kid to be a superstar and she just wasn't. I made her hate the game. It wasn't about the girls, but was about me winning. I would be out there yelling and throwing fits, and the girls got down on themselves. I was an a$$hole. It wasn't until a parent approached me and said that maybe coaching wasn't my thing. At first I was mad, but then I asked my daughter. She told me point blank that it wasn't fun because of me. I apologized to my girls and will never coach again because of my competitive nature. These are kids, not MLB players making millions. I didn't realize that at first, and I hope other coaces will one day realize that like I did. I was ashamed of myself and have learned alot from the experience.

I'm not that worried about it. It's just a game for children. I think I know who "just saying" is. I can tell by HER attitude.

Dont get on her bitching if u arent willi g to help. Yes it is a game to most kids. But the coaches want them to get out their abd do their best.. So unless u are willing to give the community your time and help coach the kids uou should keep ur mouth shut.. It takes alot to coach a group of kids.. And as for the kids sitting out.. Once u get out of tee-ball u can only have 10 players on the field at a time... If there is more than 10 on the team u have to take turns.... So if u dont knowwhats going on and how the rules work the. Shut Up..

Why are kids leaving the league in droves? The same people are on the board year in and year out. The same coaches coach every year. Why? Not because others are not willing but because they are not allowed. Following the crowd and taking mine out next season.

They were looking for new coaches this year.. So I dont know what the problem is.. Some of the coaches had to move up bc noone wanted to coach.... So if u have that big of a problem with it..When u signed ur child up ask to be a coach or sponsor a team... Help the coaches that ur chold plays for.... There is always ways to make it better abd to help the kids... And if you dont wanna help than thats fine but dont get on here bad mouthing coaches for what they try to do... And I know for one that there is new.coaches bc my kids are playing on 2 of the teams that got new coaches.... The sport is for the kids to learn and if their coaches are doing that...

Yea spoken like a true board member. Maybe you should try to listen to the reasons the league is going to die instead of firing you attitude off. People a leaving every year. The league has lost more an more kids every year. It seems to be inline with the board that exists now. Just a thought. Maybe this year someone can actually inform the public, instead of the board electing themselves in a not so public meeting. That place is terrible the way it is run. Remember people it is for all the kids, not just a select few who's parents reside on the board.

That's my problem, yes the coaches volunteer, but at the same time, their time is free. But the kids and parents time is not FREE. We have to PAY! When we pay, we don't wanna see our children in the dugouts all season. If a child is lacking in a. Area then isn't the coaches there to coach the children? Well why is it not happening? Why are kids losing the love of Baseball? gee I wonder. Sad is what it is. Turning into the MCYFL!

The coaches and Board Members are NOT THE PROBLEM! The problem are these parents who drop their kid off at practice and never participate. These parents complain about paying for their child to play, however they basically get a babysitter 3 days a week during practice at no cost to them. These parents then show up on game day wondering why their child isn't playing...well if your not watching your child interact during the practices, bringing them to practice or even working with them after practice, chances are they SUCK! It's not the coaches job to teach your child to be an athlete...There is not enough practice hours to make him the next Mr. Baseball of Marshall County...you as parents have to put the time and effort into your child....and your child has to show the effort and interest also. I have an athlete, a child who plays the field every game, and a child who never misses a practice or a game...he also puts 100% in at every practice, every game and after hours he makes time to make himself better....Bottom line is you and your child will get what you put into any sport...instead of sitting on your computers bitching, how about volunteering for your child's team or taking them outside an practicing with them...It's not always someone else's fault.

My son has played for 3 years and all of his coaches have been great.they all treated every player the same and by the way his coach this year has a son on the team and he plays outfield and he is not one of the top 5 batters. his coach told them it isn't about winning it's about going out there and having fun. I know of a coach that takes it to serious and hollers at this boys on the team and seems like every year his son is the pitcher. I think you should have played ball yourself to coach

When we were kids nobody's parents went to practice. Coaches hate parents at practice! He doesn't want your nosey butts there! You think without the 7-8-9 batters your precious boy or girl would be playing. Without 11 others kids playing your son will be traveling and batting 9th! Lol he maybe good but I promise there are better players. Most of SUPER STARS in little league quit before high school because of parents that embarrass them or push them to far. You better appreciate the other kids and there sacrifices to be there. Without all the kids there is no league. Believe that!!!!!
It's not all about your little cal Ripken!!!!!

None of its perfect. It gets no better the older they get. Even Middle and High School ball is the same. You will run across good teams and bad teams. Good coaches and bad coaches. Good umpires and bad umpires. This is the case in MCYBL, Travel ball or whatever you chose to play. So if your child and you choose to play get used to it. The memories last a lifetime. Otherwise your kids will be walking around the streets of Lewisburg.
