City wants to TAKE my land by eniment domain. How do you feel about this ?

What are they going to use it for? Did they attempt to compensate you first? How much land? Where?

This is not my land, so I really don't feel anything. The real question is 'How do you feel about this'?

The land is located in a residential area in Columbia, TN. The city wants to take a back partial that runs along the Duck River. It's just not the land but what's on it- part of a Civil War era bridge. Can you put a price on that? They want to put a sidewalk along the river adjacent to a 24/7 park. This park will draw druggies late at night. Check out one of WSMV-T4 news headings dated May 5, 2009 "Columbia Police Meet Over Escalated Crime since January". It will also obstruct my view of the river by constant people traffic. Can you put a price on that? Put yourself in my shoes. You decide.

Haven't got a attorney as of yet. But would like landowners to know that if this happens to me it will happen to others. Check out this quote at a City Council meeting dated June 18, 2009-page 12-line 18 "I guarantee you, when the revitalization project begins in East Hill, College Hill, and other areas, the idea of eminent domain will again resurface".
