If your daughter is 15, then she should understand hard times. She is too old to believe in Santa Clause and knows where the gifts come from. Also if she is pregnant (emancipated), then she is considered an adult.(I am not saying this to be mean).

I help 1-2 familys out at Christmas time who are struggling. These families I help - need the help and the child/children are still young enough to believe in Santa Clause. It would be sad for a child to go to school and hear all about what Santa brought all the other boy's and girls. I try to help these poorer families so their children do not feel left out.

I am sorry, your daughter is too old for me to help. With her age and the fact she is emancipated (pregnant). She is old enough to understand what the TRUE MEANING of Chirstmas is all about. It isn't about all the toys/high tech equipment. It is about our savior Jesus Christ !!

You don't need Christmas presents, you both need therapy. How crazy is this? Your 15 year old is pregnant????? Instead of thinking about putting money aside for a baby's baby, you are considering buying decorations?? I am beginning to see you have a much bigger problem than worrying about having a Christmas. You've got your priorities bass ackwards! It is no wonder your daughter is pregnant. Where is the father in all this?? If he is another underage boy, why is HIS parents not involved? If it was an older man, why are not the police involved??

You're not funny, you're a liar. Clap, clap, clap. In order for this to be gossip, we would be talking to others about you which we aren't. You haven't proven any point except how lame you are. People don't just believe, they accept what you say and react to it. Now we are reacting to someone who is obviously immature.

Playing games is what you were doing to get a reaction from the topix community. Of course people were going to react. The wrong was you for putting out made up information.
You knew what sort of response you were going to get and yes you received it. All you proved was people respond to people who need help, and or guidance. In this case it was a no brainer the mother was in need of guidance and she received plenty. 22 and a long way to go.

besides most people only seek information here not actual help. for instance if you are actually telling the truth I would suggest to you a certain church that helps people at Christmas time with food.

I believe she or he is a scam. Same one who tried to get free stuff earlier and would most likely play the middle man with the hopeful proceeds. She discovered everyone condemned the person for putting themselves in a situation so out of desperation she called it a gag. Now he or she is attempting to get free stuff but on a different angle. She lied, now it is a good chance she is lying again. If she is not, she did it to herself and no one should trust her.

I am a single mother of two beautiful little girls and this is our first christmas in about 4 years together... See I'm in recovery from alcohol and drugs ... I'm 22 months clean and sober through the grace of God no doubt. I came to lewisburg back in feb 2011 for treatment and stayed a year in a transition house to get a foundation in recovery... And it's been nothing, but a blessing. I work the same job that I got two months after getting to lewisburg and although I make 8. An hour I find gratitude in making a honest living... I got a place to live and have been on my own since feb 8 2012... I petitioned the court for custody of my children and the court returned them to me!! Again God ! I really want our first Christmas back together to be special and although just having us all together is special enough for me... They are kids and christmas isn't Christmas for them without presents under the tree... Asking for help isn't easy, but I want my kids to have christmas and I just don't have a single dollar that isn't spent to provide a roof over there head and food for them to eat... So, if anyone knows of any help it would be so appreciated :) God Bless

Since you are giving God the glory, just wondering, are you going to church?

Yes mam... I do attend church. I do give God glory, but also know without the willingness to change and the things I do to stay sober. Such as meetings, sponsor, and share my experience, strength and hope... I wouldn't be sober today .. I do go to church, but my definition of God is much more than church. It's spiritual. It's seeing things happen in my life that I never could do alone...

With that said, you have a church family to turn to in these times. Christmas, even for children it is a time to reflect on Christ's giving of Salvation to us. You don't list the ages of the children, but young kids don't need expensive gifts to open and older ones need to learn to understand Christmas is not about "getting". Younger than 3 or 4, they really won't even care if they are wrapped in brown paper. Don't let "your" idea (traditions) of Christmas misdirect you.

A few inexpensive gifts including home made are just as good. Nice toys can be had for cheap at Goodwill or even the Dollar stores and unwrapping them can be just a fun.(If you work on it through the year, you won't have to rely on others). I am often surprised at the number of those in your situation that even smoke cigarettes that if they quit would have hundreds of dollars to spend.

Sometimes we put too much emphasis on Christmas as a holiday of lights, trees, gifts, and very little on the supposed reason for the season. That is the fault of humans creating traditions. Frankly, Christmas is a pagan related festival and was never really Christian and many families have put too much of a "getting", materialistic emphasis on it, rather than a time to come together as family and reflecting on what we do have together.

Glad to see your kind hearted outlook on life now. You're not hard hearted.
Call Wallace Haley ,he has plenty of toys at Christmas time. He gives some food too.
Call SOUTH CENTRAL ,Old Columbia Hwy.Aply for programs.
Call Human Services, apply for more help.SSI maybe, food samps.
Call Goodwill for any bargains they have.
and teach your kids to find a family worse off and help them.Perhaps share a meal.
My mother made feed sack rag dolls when I was a child for me.I'd watch her hand stitch them..Daddy was in Navy, money was scarce. And don't forget to thank HIM for your little children. You are richly blessed everyday. Can get a lot worse.
