This is funny. Too much information doesn't apply to the bedroom anymore.
When a spouse works a different shift, two beds are needed. Why should a wife be doorkeeper and interupt her sleep schedule, every day. School kids need not be interrupted by shift work schedules of their parents. Sleeping is healthy. Now, I will close the bedroom door.
I knew a school bus driver who had her bedroom and with the rotating work schedule of her husband, he had his bedroom.
Many wives would love a one room apartment to get away from it all. Rest is important.

My other half used to snore...had to turn him over every 2 hours or so...did make me a bit cranky in the AM...sleep is needed to recharge our brains...some need more than others..I need a lot of it!

All I know is that the most peaceful time of my day is when my wife snuggles up to me. Then I know ALL IS WELL.

Unless one of us isn't feling well, we sleep in the same bed. Altho when the kids were little babies, I have always slept in their room.

Not as common as it once was. There is SOME evidence that a parent can roll over on a baby, there is also the risk of baby falling out of a bed (but they also make products to help that.) When my babies (except for the twins) were 0-6 months, I slept in the bed set up next to the crib, because I breastfed. Now they crawl in bed with us often, enough that we invested in a king size bed. Doesn't really bother us at all. My 2 year old is the biggest "snugglebug" you have ever seen. We usually nap together if the baby is asleep too.

Been married 27 years and we still sleep in the same bed. My husband now works a night shift since we moved down here, makes our sleep schedules different, he sleeps afternoons now and I kept to my normal night time pattern, he closes the door when he goes to bed and I do my best to keep the house and dog quiet so not to disturb him but on his days off we sleep together at night.
None of my 4 kids came into bed with us to sleep, if one had a bad dream or woke and couldn't go back to sleep it was my "job" as their mother to go to their room and stay with them until they were settled down and able to go back to sleep. They still laugh and tease me over my beating up their pillows when they had bad dreams to scare the nightmare monster out of it.

That is wonderful. I think couples should always make it a priority to make sure they share a bed. Also married about 27 years, and having worked night shift, and many odd hours, we have always slept in the same bed as often as humanly possible.

To me, no bed sharing means that I breach the condition of my marriage. Show your love to your half that one sacrifies for whatever one is and whatever problems unless one accidentally married or without loving purpose.

Sleep is sleep, whether it is in the same bed or not. Sleep is meant to revive the body...therefore, if that means that an arrangement of seperate beds is needed, then so be it....besides, sleep is one thing....and a couple can always meet in a neutral area for other needs..........that reminded me...Mr. Butthead, leave your poor wife alone and stop that flaunting your devilish good looks at her, poor lady...gettin her all flustered.....

I agree with you. I have been married over thirty years and still sleep in the same bed with my husband. That make a strong marriages, cause you can alway talk at nite when everyone is in their own bed and still feel the love that belong in marriages.

We don't sleep in the same bed anymore, because I snore. I do miss the hugging and talking at nite before you fall to sleep. Its very lonely.Maybe someday when the kids are gone I'll find a new bed.... if know what I mean.

The Bed
Is such a wonderful place
A place to Love
A place to sleep
A place for two hearts to meet
A place to heal
A place to play
A place to tell about the day
A place to think
A place to fight
A place to have a wonderfull night
A place to toss and turn
A place to worry
A place to not get in a hurry
A place to win
A place to lose
A place to snoose
So when you are in the bed you see
Think of me
Old Butthead
What he said about the bed
Now if you are one
or if you are two
Now we are Two
are we are three
Because Butthead
Be there with thee
In your thoughts and in your mind
Now aint that bed fine
