Wonder if it was explained do Cornersville Police set at the bottom of that I-65 hill in the upper end of a on coming rest area trafic, shooting radar, facing on coming 70 mile hour south bound on coming trafic and pull out into on coming 70 milies per hour trafic crossing 2 lines of trafic to give chase of speeders coming down a I-65 hill just below a blind curve?

For is it not a danger to the police themselves and unsuppecting traveling public, that is the city of Cornersville creating a danger to others who are not even speeding? If they pull into on coming south bound 70 mile per hour trafic from a dead stop?

Will some day there be a major wreck because of how that speed trap or radar is set up?
Why is that polic car not facing south to go with the flow of trafic, rather than north pulling out into 70 milies per hour south bound trafic?

Well, according to the article, Cornerville's jurisdiction is now only from the 26.8 marker to 27.8 on I-65. That would not put it anywhere near those rest areas. So if I got a ticket outside that area I would fight it in court.

Of course it's a speed trap. The safety of the residents of Cornersville is much better served by having the police officers remain in the populated area of town. Instead, the city annexed out to I-65 to get its grubby little paws on that ca$h. The whole town, from the residents all the way to the elected officials, are guilty of perpetuating this Robin Hood scheme. They would rather fund their town with interstate money and go without protection than actually fund their town the proper way. The entire town deserves to shrivel and die, and that's exactly what is happening to it.

Is there no problem with them shooting radar but is it how that radar is shot and the chase car position that could cause others who are not speeding to wreck?

If when a 70 milie an hour 18 wheeler might switch lanes coming drown that hill, to advoid the police car coming out of that rest area, in the wrong direction, crossing 2 lanes of south bound 70 mile per hour traffic, might run another family car off the road then who is going to be at fault the City of Cornersville?

Wonder if the Town of Cornersville Insurance Company knows or allows radar shot on the I-65 by their police?

I doubt there would be any way of finding out, but I bet most of the cars they ticket are out of state. These are people who are not going to come back to C'ville to fight the ticket and they won't know the C'ville police have no jurisdiction beyond 26.8 and 27.8.

There is a way to find out. Just ask. yes they have targeted out of state folks because they are not here to complain. Thats how they got away with it so long. Finally someone questioned it and they got caught with their hand in the cookie jar. I am glad somebody stood up and started asking questions. They have been handing out tickets left and right for two years outside thier jurisdiction. Now they say they did not but I can see where they sit from my house. They lied to cover up the money scheme. They have moved now, but there was two years worth of tickets given out illegally and it has now stopped. The ones in the paper that said they did not do that lied. I will testify different because its a lie that they weren't there. They know nobody likes it but their salaries are paid by it. DISGUSTING! It needs to stop completely.

Is that what they did before when did Connersville had that crooked city manager, who went to jail, and did the Connersville Police not then sit on the interstate running radar on unsuspecting out of state traveling public? Why is Radar allowed to be shot on steep down hills where most might get a little over the speed limits? Was it years ago that a lady traveling on I-65 from out of state, was chased to Brentwood by a Connersville Cop who was shooting radar on I-65 and wrecked her car? Who alone would have stopped for that druggy looking unmarked police car? Was it said she was too scared to stop because at that time, was Connersville using an unmarked dark windows police car to shoot radar on the I-65?
Should Lewisburg, Pulaski, Elton, Ardmore, every small town all over Tennessee started shooting radar on I-65 at every hill on I-65 between Tennessee and Fla.? Just think what that would do for business and tourism? How many would avoid Tennessee, like people avoid the town of Connersville now?

Will Tennessee soon be known as a police state, where small town police and their Court Systems operate for profits, made off radar, and unsuspecting travelers from out of state?

Is aggressive Radar on I-65 destroying Tourism, as has it destroyed local business in the town of Connersville?
Could the police departments and Court system get so corrupt, greedy, and needy that it operates for profit for it selves, rather than to serve and protect the people?

Do people remember Boss Hog and his gang? How they operated?
Could any of these Small Towns become that way in this Day and Times?

Could it become where small town police, or any city officials operate for profit, rather than serve and protect the people?

Why don't towns like Lynville, Elton, Ardmore, Cornersville, Petersburg all the small towns run radar on all the interstates hiways, all over the state of Tennessee? Operating for profits and lowing their city's property taxes?

Had the law makers better take the profits from police, radar , tickets and fines, putting those back into general fund, budgeting the police and court systems, with general funding tax money only, before if any small town or big city police departments or judges become greedy or corupt, get so big and powerful the people might lose their freedoms and rights all together?

Look at this audit. The chart for revenue shows that fines and fees are the biggest source of income the city has.\\\\

The next chart, expenses, shows the only expenses they have is government and police. That means they are only policing interstate to pay themselves.

Do away with the police patrol, you won't need that fat court system and city hall salaries, police force is too big, and the property tax won't go up a penny because there are no services provided by Cornersville except government you then won't need. Wake up citizens. Brangenburg (sp?) stole from you and hid it form you. This guy is doing it, telling you about it and you are doing nothing about it. Ask the mayor and manager why there is no business left in the city, why only the salaries of the employees are inflated while taxpayers are depressed. Take action now folks. Make them answer the questions now. Time for an old fashioned town hall meeting and I would ask them to show up and anyone else that might be able to do something about it.

My car doesn't you stupid dope. I have cruise control as most cars today do. It will maintain your speed even down hill. And today's cars also have low positions (just like the old 2nd gear) you can shift to if needed to avoid using the breaks. And the law says to maintain control of your car at all times, including down hills. You are the idiot because you are unable to control your car. Turn in your drivers license (if you even have one) and stay home.

There is no justification for extortion. It's a shakedown for all the wrong reasons. Adolf Hitler operated a police state that had the goveernment and the police as the biggest entities and private industry left there in droves too. They should stick to protecting the people of the city and leave the interstate to the ones hired to do it.

Officers posting on here can't justify the means. No one else can either.

Great comparison brainiac. NOT! This is not a police state or even close to it. Just obey the simple laws we have and you won't have to worry about the police. What they are doing always has to be within their jurisdiction.

If you read the article it is clear, Rep. Billy Spivey is against it, Tennessee Department of Safety and Homeland Security on Tuesday approved Cornersville's application for interstate authority in I-65's one-mile section, Nov. 28, CPD Chief Todd Bone sought renewal of the authority. Jan. 4, THP Col. Tracy Trott replied: I-65 between Exits 22 and 27 isn't in the town, so renewal was DENIED.

So between Spivey and the State of Tennessee, it would be unwise for the city to get caught writing tickets outside their jurisdiction. I you see them speed checking outside their jurisdiction, report it to Rep. Spivey.
