what makes it a cult?
big families and loads of adopted children.
everybody is entitled to a different opinion, a cult implies something dangerous.

What would make someone think this church is a cult? Sounds like someone is trying to start gossip which is not cool.

I have been to that church and seen how it works, talked to former members and heard how it was run,

And the church was some kind of connected to the Shelley Blair case, somebody was condoning what was done because they knew of the circumstances.

i was a member there for 2 yrs and loved it...if the church is all about $ why hadnt pastor baker nor pastor wipf received a salary in over 2 yrs? there was a period of 5 wks in the beginning of the yr that men were asked to give testamonies in reference to titheing and being obedient to what God tells us to do and how they have been blessed. and who is it that has a big family with adopted children? the bakers? no those are all of their kids and they are very well taken care of even without government assistance and without their father getting a salary. their family is blessed because of their obedience and faithfullness to God. pastor baker is one of the most Godliest men i have ever met and if you all got to know him you would agree. but of course people judge people w/o even knowing them or going by what they heard. like he has always said if someone has a ? for him come to him and he will be more than happy to discuss it w u. and to maverick are your beliefs according to what the Bible says? if not then you should change them. why wouldnt you want to live according to what the Bible says is right?

maverick..church denominations are like ice cream.. some like chocolate, some like vanilla. most all preach the same message.
Which is:
We are saved by grace, not by our good works. We cannot earn our way to eternal life and heaven. Nothing we can do can get us there.

Salvation is a gift freely given to us by God through His son, Jesus.
Jesus came to earth to take on the sins of the world, so that the world could commune with God.

All I know is my life was hell before I realized what Jesus did for me and I accepted His gift. I encourage you and everyone to accept this gift that is freely given, and do not let jesus' followers who are prideful, self-serving and hypocritical keep you from accepting Jesus into your heart.

Merry Christmas!

merry christmas to you too.thanks for the reply.when i said can't follow i should've wrote can't follow saved by grace alone.i feel one has to work at it everyday not just ask for christ to come into his heart. and be saved.and not work at staying saved.i hope you understand where im trying to come from.lol i can be a bit confusing at times

Works and faith are important to a healthy, balanced Christian walk. However, it is by grace alone that we are saved (our part is to realize our salvation, which can be considered a work).

Once we are saved, good works will naturally occur.. at least is has for me.

Wish all of you a merry Christmas.. the celebrated day of Christ's birth. He is the most wonderful gift!
