I have read all of these posts above...From the first one to the last. I just think that everyone has their own opinions and you are getting mad every time someone doesn't agree with them. I think that there should be changes but you are taking them to where no animals can be had. I think we all need to stay calm...Because you are arguing with each other and Its not helping.:/
Some people have a hard time not resorting to name calling and personal insults.
Some are alarmists

I never lose sleep over insults or name calling and or both. Most responses are emotionally based and not necessarily well thought out remarks.

I still stand with what I said earlier. This man needs to be in jail, his business closed permanently, and animals placed with properly trained/responsible sanctuaries.

"YOUR DUMB", or "YOU'RE DUMB"?
Jail time for lack of proper insurance -- same thing happens if you drive a car without it.

Your spelled Y-O-U-R is used in describing or telling someone, this is "YOUR" house, or "YOUR" clothes. Y-O-U-'-R-E, means "YOU ARE". As in YOU ARE here, or "YOU ARE" nuts. Please return to school.

First off (bizzy bee) the salmonella egg contamination is from the feed, lots of feed. It's made from primarily vegatative matter (grows from dirt, dirt has salmonella in it). That's why salads and raw vegetable foods have had many recalls in the past from salmonella. Turn all the chickens loose and let them free range, they will still have to be fed, AND, they will live on dirt, and lay eggs on dirt (where can salmonella come from?) Right, dirt.
Who's going to harvest 1/2 billion eggs, picking them up off the ground anyway?

What's that got to do with this?
Animal Rights groups pushing legislation to create zero/animal interaction. No exotics, then breed specific bans (dobies, rotties, German shepards, etc) then make eggs/meat/poultry so expensive people can't afford it (like they can anyway). Then eventually, your housecat and poodle. It's connect the dots, one step at a time, doing it to people, using their own money.

My heart breaks for Brent's family. The enclosure system is absurd when a human has to be in direct contact with a wild animal to feed/clean/water it.

Should Brent have known better? How many other wildlife places had he worked at? He was doing as he was showed. This is not how responsible wildlife facilities operate, whether zoos, sanctuaries or private collections. It is the responsible facilities that will be ultimately penalized though. The people looking for the zero/human interaction agenda know this, and it's the plan. They don't accrue 150 million a year by being stupid. They don't earn that money, people donate it to them.

The bear that killed Brent? He paid the price too. A simple lock-out would have prevented that. The animals cannot be responsible for human ignorance or laziness. They are at the mercy of humans, in captivity, and in the wild.

The animals there should be released to proper and well maintained facilities, simply for their own sake. Before considering bans, regulations for proper wildlife-keeping ahould be considered. You can go from "regulations" to a ban (if needed) easier than undoing a ban. We have lawmakers, not law un-makers. We also have people eager to create legislation for their own benefit. It may appear it's for "the good of animals" but rarely does "good" come from any bans, even for the animals.

Sorry for the long post, I don't banter back and forth, and won't be posting again. God bless Brent and may he rest in peace, and not exploited for some legislative agenda. I hope the same for the bear that was euthanized, and all of the rest of the wildlife at that facility.
