And now SOME humans will be mad at the bear. the BEAR is the victim here.I hate to see someone get hurt by HUMANS ignorance/neglect but that is what has happened here. And if you don't understand that statement then you just don't get it.

Just think about it! The so called environmentalists are reintroducing or trying to do it with Gray Wolves!...They have been successful in their Cayote program....Those animals do not belong in a Metropolitan area unless they are in a Zoo....not some back yard chicken wire cage or running loose.

I just don't understand how an animal that is part of your family will attack when provoked.

Those black bear wrestling contests are always rigged. One problem is that they're never done according to weight class. I once paid the fee to have my fat next door neighbor wrestle a bear. I thought she would have a great chance against the bear because she probably had a few pounds on him.

When she went to get into the ring, the promoter called it off and refunded my money. He made some lame excuse. The bear looked pretty worried.

YOU WIN!!
that was priceless...

i'm sure the bear will be destroyed, small consolation after the "life" it's had in captivity..
one more reason that owning exotic animals needs to be heavily regulated, and idiots possessing large carnivores totally outlawed.

I agree get rid of the ability for these idiots to make money off of these Exotic animals. Good for the bear. I'm sure it was abused in captivity. How sad that it will be destroye when it should be the owner that gets destroyed. Even Kentucky has banned exotic animals. Oh but good ol Ohio still lets these idiots own big cats, bear. I was at a flea market and saw several cats and other exotics in the worst shape I had ever seen anywhere. My husband and I immediately called animal control to get this idiot for neglect and abuse. It makes me sick.

Bear wrestling- how medieval is that? No animal should be forced to live like this. And i hope that the owner of the bear must pay so it can live in an animal sanctuary. There is no reason to destroy this animal.

Exotic animals should never be privately owned and when I see someone with a Tiger or bear in the backyard they are alway toothless hillbillies or Mike Tyson.

Somedays you get the bear. Somedays the bear gets you. Darin was right. I'm curious as to the rest of the story.

This is precisely why Ohio needs a law regulating the ownership of these wild (yes, wild) animals. They are NEVER completely domesticated and can revert to wild behavior at any time. Even the family dog can turn on you in the blink of an eye. Ohio legislators, open your eyes!

Does anyone know how old the bear was?

This will make a big difference between wether the bear will be tried as an adult or a minor for this horrible crime!!!!!

If the bear is tried as a minor, it probably will only have to clean the elephant stalls for less than two years, especially if the bear exhibits good behavior.
