If they had a decent Supervisor he would have been checking up on them to see/inspect what they were doing. And I'm not stupid; I make over 100G a year and I can't help what my parents named me. Sounds like to me you HATE and LOVE the state job you have at the same time. One minute you hate them and the next you love them. I think you have issues and need to go lay on a couch and talk to someone that can help you. You have to be a woman; no man would respond to what I said like that. Maybe you are just a fence jumper. So take yourself back to that $20,000 a year less job and keep fussing about, or get out and find a job that will pay you what you are worth is all I'm saying. You are B----ing at me and you were the one that was complaning about the state to start with. Go figure. Can't spell and making that kind of money?

Are they visible on a daily or weekly basis? Look at your director does she hold her head down when she passes you. We're just there to make everybody else look good. When you do a good job do you see them. But mess something up and you know where they are. We need new leadership. Our director looks away when she sees us... Our deputy director does speak, but speaking pays no bills. She is a nice lady from what I can see, but she needs to get us some raises with these evaluations... I had my evaluation last week and I exceed in every area, but my supervisor says there will be no raise! we need raises badly.

I heard about this site from a co-worker at dmv... Everyone needs to post their thoughts on here, I wonder if WLTX will investigate why Driver Services can't get raises like the other departments?

I know you can say that the taxypayer has a right to know who is making what on the public payroll. But what is this going to accomplish is there going to be a mass uproar over some one they think is being over paid. Will neighbors be able to spy on neighbors working for the state. I think this is a good starting point for identity theft. You have full names where they work and what they make. I just typed in random names and found out a Clemson professor makes over 220,000 a year. That explains why tution is so high. I feel it would be best if this feeature was dropped.

That feature has been in existance for a long time, not just now, and when you are a low level employee of the state and for years and years you are told that the "Budget" won't allow raises, but you see that higher level employees get raises people want to know why. A 10% increase isn't much when you make 20,000 a year but when you make 50,70, and 80 a year it shows.

look at Mr. Ott's salary. You tell me why he should make this kind of salary as a lecturer at USC and the public school teachers make hardly nothing. It is a shame. I know the work that is done does not deserve that kind of salary. Someone from SC Dept. of Education needs to come and sit in on a several classrooms at several public schools and see how hard our public education teachers have to work and in return get low salaries and no assistance from parents or higher administrations.

I mean - I never even HEARD of Confederate Memorial Day until I started working for the State. I mean, it's like the white legislators told the black legislators that they could have MLK day if they could have a Confederate Mem. Day. A "white" holiday for a "black" holiday. I would not be at all surprised if that's the way they worked it out too.

I wish I knew the what to tell ya. when Fred, and Burgess were the Directors things were much better. I don't know whats going on now. I see those young ladies working and going to school and trying to pay their bills and they have a rough time. I'm glad I have a husband, cause if not it would be bad for me also... We on that floor need money. Granted some of those salaries are well deserved, our deputy director was a secretary and worked her way up, I am proud of her, but on the other hand, they should give people the raises that they promised them with the evaluations. I just encourage them and pray hard for them not to give up!

How nice can she be if she's not supporting the folks that she oversees? When they have these big meetings does she support her people? The answer may be yes but is she following through with getting us some money. NO. All we can do is wait and hope that come next election we'll get a Governor who would put someone in charge who will look out for everyone and not just "their" friends.

Voc Rehab has a job opening for an 'Aquatics Exercise Instructor' with starting pay at $45,500 a year. This is someone who basically watches others play in the pool. Meanwhile their IT techs make less than $30,000 a year. These are the guys that keep the department running. The IT techs have to continually learn new technologies and get new certifications just to keep up with the industry. Mean while there's this over blown lifeguard lounging around the pool making 20K more a year.
Maybe it's time for the IT techs to all catch that Silicon Flu that's going around and to lay out for a few days. Let's see then how important the techs are to Voc Rehab.

Well you should have worked that day for 8 hours and refused to take 8 hours pay for the day off. The State gives you a day off and pays you for it. Give me a break; find something else to complain about.

The reason wrote: The reason all are not posted is you would see just how pathetic the common state workers are paid. many not over the state poverty level. THose wonderful cost of living raises come just in time for our insurance to be raised to take away all of the difference as well as never getting a yearly raise. Well get another job, or quit complaing about it. No one is making you work there.
