You've got to hand it to bloviating Brit Piers Morgan. While he got most of the facts wrong in his recent targeting of the Second Amendment, it hasn't stopped him from moving on to even more formidable targets. Such as the Bible. He says the book is "inherently flawed" -- and needs to be amended.
Piers handed down his decree while interviewing Saddleback Church pastor Rick Warren on the December 24th "Piers Morgan Tonight." Yes, on Christmas Eve. When other hosts might be discussing love, brotherhood, salvation, and all things ethereal, Captain Morgan was giving us the world according to Piers. And how would he improve the Good Book? Said he, "Both the Bible and the Constitution were well intentioned, but they are basically, inherently flawed. Hence the need to amend it. My point to you about gay rights, for example; it's time for an amendment to the Bible."
Well, Piers, we're so blessed to have you to correct both America's founding document and the most influential book in history. We had to suffer more than 200 years with one and more than 2000 with the other, but the right god-man has finally come along. Oh, and when you're done with that, old boy, can you contact the Genome Project and rewrite the human genetic code for us? We're flawed, too.

While many will say, as Warren might have implied, that relativism reduces morality to opinion, even this is both too generous and a misunderstanding. "Opinion" often refers to a thesis about what may be the answer to a particular question, about what may be true. But this presupposes that there are answers to be found, that there is such a thing as "true." In other words, Mars exists not because everyone believes it does, but because its existence is a physical truth. And the question is, does moral Truth exist in the same way, apart from man and his imagination? If not, then saying that something is morally "true" would make as much sense as saying that planet Vulcan exists simply because you felt it did. Delusion does not a truth make. So relativism does not reduce morality to opinion. It implies something else.

That morality doesn't exist.
After all, to say that society determines "morality" is to simply put lipstick on the pig of man's preferences about behavior. To analogize the matter, if we learned that 90 percent of the world preferred vanilla to chocolate, would this somehow make chocolate "wrong" or "evil"? No, it would simply be an issue of taste. But then how does it make any sense to say that murder is "wrong" if the only reason we do so is that the majority of the world prefers that one not kill in a way the majority calls "unjust"? If this is all it is, then murder falls into the same category as flavor: taste. Again, delusion does not a truth make.

More intellectually nimble moral relativists have thought the above through and -- although their ultimate conclusion is wrong -- they don't fool themselves the way Morgan, Richard Dawkins, and virtually every other leftist does. The same applies to homosexual "rights." If "morals" are values and values just reflect tastes, how can respecting homosexuals be morally superior to persecuting them? How can any behavior preference rightly be judged at all? I think here of how the robot in the filmTerminator 2: Judgment Day repeatedly asked the adolescent John Connor why he shouldn't kill people. "Why? Why?" The machine was just being logical, unlike the liberal organic robots (atheism = no souls = man is merely chemicals and water) that entertain meaning-inducing illusions. In a relativistic universe, moral principles do not compute. This is why any relativism-buttressed point collapses upon itself.
It is also what your relativism implies.
That is Philosophy 101. And if you can't understand even that, Mr. Morgan, you're going to start to seem, to use your own words, like an "unbelievably stupid man."

I think that Piers, like all liberal family members, bases all of his world view on "feelings" as objective truth. If they "feel" something is this or that then it must be. It is my observation and humble opinion that "feelings" or emotion is an interface between the mind, the body and the spirit. Emotions are there to let us know what is going on between these three parts of us. Unfortunately, when one or all of these aspects of us is out of whack (i.e., sickness or depression) then the emotional signal that is originally there as a barometer of these aspects can become distorted and give us a reading that is not necessarily true or even based in reality. Take depression for example. A depressed person "feels" sad and that the world around him is dark and dreary. But is it really? Emotions can be a very tricky thing if we don't analyze them reasonably. This is why children have such a hard time with their emotions. For them how they feel is so real that it is truth to them even when it isn't. Eventually they grow up and hopefully learn that not everything in life is an emotional crisis or that life can be manipulated by an emotional outburst but if they don't learn this I think that we get people like Piers who color everything with an emotional explosion like a child does. Even when done in "grown up" language the left does a good adult interpretation of "You're mean!", "You're hateful!", "I don't like you!" or they will start the juvenile name calling which doesn't enlighten or edify anyone.

My, my, you people over there really have got it in for Piers Morgan haven't you? You shouldn't take everything you hear to heart so, everyone is entitled to an opinion, just seems he's lucky enough to air his on the TV. You could always switch off you know. You also have to remember Morgan comes from the newspaper world and everybody knows one should never believe what one reads in a newspaper for pity's sake. But the issue of the bible is rather a grey area and I guess you Americans do take it all so personally, a lot of you are extremely big on this religion thing and yet you are always having a pop at other people and countries. The fact anyway that Morgan is British is no reason to have a go either, he is a human and could come from any country, one must be careful on the racism front after all. Though there again, America has terrible racism issues. I have had dealings with an American detective and I could cast aspersions saying his poor treatment of me was due to the fact he is an American, no it's due to the fact he is an ignorant human. Anyway back to the subject of the bible. Of course it's flawed, that too was written by man and we all know how man tells lies (notice I say man, so as to include both sexes). Humans are instinctive story tellers and the best stories are make believe, no one wants fact and reality. Believe what you choose to believe, but allow everyone their own opinion. We all have the right to the freedom of speech. As I say at least with the TV you can switch it off, personally I hardly ever watch the dribble. But I'll tell you one thing is a fact, British TV is highly superior to any American trash, ask the detective at Forest Acres Police Department.

Maybe it has nothing to do with you being British at all. Might it had more to do with you wearing a skirt in a deserted park? State Parks are notorious hangouts (pardon the pun) for homosexuals and cross dresssers. Did he check you boot and bonnet too? Better luck next time around. Next time your here across the pond and feel like visiting a State park, maybe you should bring a banjo and some KY-Jelly. We don't have Princes' in this country....except for the State Parks!

The guy on this link is actually a detective. This should be reported to some one, it must be a hoax of some kind.

What most of us wonder about Morgan Piers is why doesn't he go back to Britain? He's regaled us with how low your homicide by firearm statistics are. Heck, they're 0% in US prisons and jails- but who the hell wants to live in a prison or jail just because no one gets killed with a firearm there?
If you want to see how crime has EXPLODED in England after they passed tough laws making it almost impossible to own a firearm, go to the site:

http://assaultweaponsbanof2013.blogspot.com and read the US Department of Justice Reports yourself rather than have someone (mis)quote them to you. Pay particular attention to the report:
"Crime and Justice in the United States and in England and Wales, 1981-1996". It's an eye opener.

Hey, and remember, "Americans will never, never, never be Bri-tons" to re-phrase "Rule Britannia".

No, they are two people separated by a common language. Unfortunately, the Brits have forgotten why they ONCE were great. Now they are Muslims. Good luck with that!

They "the Brits" have forgotten their long history of legal precedence and allowed a 6th Century pagan belief of Islam to subvert and usurp their laws. They've thrown in the towel and given up the crown.

The Brits have done all that, have they now. David Cameron is Scottish. Barack Obama attended a Jakarta madrassah and you are telling us muzzies have taken over the Brits. it is your muzzie pres who is governing by executive orders, not David Cameron. give me another clueless check for knowing the muzzie is in DC, not London.
