Why blame the parents? It could have happened to anyone. It is a tragic event and my heart goes out to that family. Stop the judging.
I agree 100% with your comment it could happen to anyone and any race. The only reason all these people are saying such horrible things is because the couple were hispanic. Cmon people we are talking about a child getting killed there was no way this child would have known that pulling away from his mother would kill him.Saying no to a two yearold is the same as telling them to do it.Grow up people and have a heart try to put yourself in there shoes.

Reading this story reminds me of one of my sons when he was small. I had him at the ER 3 times because he would pull his elbow out of socket trying to get away from me. And because of that I would use a leash when I would take him and his brother our in public,(they are 17 months apart). Yes, I would get the horrible comments about "treating them like dogs" but because of having good ole common sense and a "harness" I now have TWO sons, ages 12 & 14. I do feel terrible for these parents for losing their child. The same type of thing could have happened to me. BUT IT WAS BEYOND STUPID to take a two year old on that trail! I took my boys there last year and I still didn't go on that trail. I don't care if you can read the signs or not, if you look up and see the trail goes straight up the mountainside and there is nothing but a hand rail to keep you safe, that should trigger something in you that says HEY MAYBE I SHOULD TAKE THE ELEVATOR TO THE TOP, or NOT TAKE MY BABY UP THERE! I pray God will help them because of the horror they are going through now and the years to come. Nothing will ever erase the picture from their minds of their son falling off the side of that mountain!

FYI, anytime that I'm online, you better believe my baby is either taking a nap or under my Grandmother's supervision. That seriously isn't any of your business though. How dare you even insinuate that I'm not attentive enough. You have no idea what you're talking about. So back off. 2nd of all... The comments I've left on here were in response to different people who replied to my previous posts. You've left a few comments on here yourself, hypocrite.

I was there that very morning it happened and no, all signs are in English. Which is as it should be seeing as how this is an English speaking country. If you move here learn the language.
You wouldn't believe the parents dragging their little kids along on these trails. Also there a whole bunch of little dogs. There bear warnings all over the place and people have to bring their little rats of a dog on these trails. These little dogs are like magnets for a bear.
I saw one young couple on a trail labeled as being severe, the man had a small 1 or 2 yr old riding on his shoulders while he carried a baby stroller and the young mother was lugging a big bag. This trail was narrow with loose rock and dirt. Both were struggling.
My 10 year old kid wouldn't want to go on this trail. Why are people taking little rat dogs and kids? Stupid AND boring, especially for young children.

I bet when her child turns two she will find a more age appropriate activity for him or her.

Nunya was only trying to say don't take a two year old on a high cliff trail.

Nobody is questioning the importance of multi-linguistic abilities. If I run a business IN AMERICA, and I choose to do business in Italy, then I better learn Italian or I won't succeed. If I am vacationing in Italy, I better learn Italian or I will probably miss my flight. If I am defecting to Italy, I better learn Italian or I'm going to just be an illegal alien in a foreign country who doesn't understand anyone... The difference? I don't go to Italy EXPECTING them to know MY language. I assimilate to them so I can flourish and survive. It's not a very hard concept. That's the problem with you liberal freaks is that you're OK with being overrun by illegal immigrants who expect us to fulfill their every needs (according to their own mandate). That's just sick.
You must understand that not everyone is as intelligent as you and some people actually take longer to become proficient in a foreign language than you apparently do.

Tolerance, understanding and empathy are wonderful attributes, you should try them sometime.

Spot On, just so you know, you do not have to know foreign languages to catch a flight at an international airport, the announcements are made in several languages.

I would never in a million years take a 2 year old child on a hike or near a cliff for any reason at all and most people have enough common sense to know not to either. Go to a petting zoo or something. The parents did not use good judgement and now they have to live with that. It's really a sad situation.

But the restaurants I dine in while in foreign countries won't provide me an English menu... Get it?

The current LEGAL naturalization process here in the USA provides a sufficient amount of time for someone to assimilate their language skills to basic conversational English. But I agree that when an illegal is running from border patrol, they probably don't have enough time to learn the language. It's probably pretty tough to learn a language by candlelight in a tunnel...

I have plenty of tolerance, empathy, AND understanding for someone who wants to come into our country LEGALLY and assimilate to our country... And if it is found that these people are legal residents, then I will blame the cuntry for failing them in the naturalization process. If they are legal visitors from another country, and intended to return home upon the expiration of their Visa's, then my condolences to them.

doesn't seem angry to me but if you can't get angry when a toddler dies because he has stupid parents,When can you get angry?????
