I am sure the CDP could conduct the investigation of the accident, however If Tandy was too stupid to understand that it was a conflict of interest to complete the investigation he is too stupid to be the chief.....

as far a Tamika is concerned her big ballon butt needs to go alone with Rikerman...

T Dev makes Tony Lawton look like the Pope. Charged $5000+ for closings, used HUD loans illegally, and now husband is getting money from city to do affordable housing! How in the f does she get away with this?

Corruption is sickening in the city and Tameika leads the way. It will be just a matter of time before the FBI comes down on her.

I saw T Dev on the street the other day and when she went to scratch her butt, all she had to do was reach over her shoulder. A big black hole right here on earth!

The city manager told him to turn the investigation over to the highway department.
Instead of doing what his boss told him to do he went over the city mangers head to the state Attorney General and asked if he had to do as his boss told him. The AG said hell yeah you do what your boss tells you. The city manger finds out about Tandy going over his head and fires his ass.

The city attorney is upset also. All Tandy had to do was ask him. You don't try to do an end run around your boss elevating a local municipal matter to the state level and expect nothing to come of it.

Just like any other job, you do what your boss tells you to or you get canned. It is that simple.

Again thank you for your response to my Query, But upon reading about more of this situation for myself I to draw this conclusion to the whole matter......I believe that Chief Carter DID act within the scope of his authority by not knuckling into the demands of outsiders from city hall and the city manager fired him because he had the guts to stand on his own authority to handle the situation as per the guidelines of his position.

For a Black man to do this doesn't go over well with many whites who may have been in position to make their "suggestions" to him but were not directly people that he had to answer to that were NOT his boss, So they mummered and complained to the CM who fired him to keep peace among the ranks so to speak, And of course to smooth this over with the public (particularily the black part of it) they temporarily hired another Black man to replace him.

But believe me that "interim" title is strictly just that......INTERIM as the colonel too will be gone shortly replaced by someone white.

Had Carter been white himself to begin with this whole situation would have been swept under the rug and we would not have heard anything about it.

I'm not disagreeing with what you say here. While your opinion about the matter is mostly conjecture on your part since since neither of us knows what really when on in the heads of all involved my original answer to your question still stands. The city manager, staff, lawyer, and people with pull didn't like the way Tandy wouldn't follow orders and fired him.
The personal reasons you give above may be true *shrug* but the fact of the matter is that he didn't do as he was told by his superiors and in fact went behind their backs and over their heads. Any employee regardless of their race, color, code, or creed can will get fired for doing such a thing. In fact I have. I got caught going behind my black boss to his white boss and my white ass got fired by my black boss.

yep simple case of he thought he had power being chief of police , So... he decided he was gonna investigate the accident himself uh uh ... nope !
And I agree that it would create a conflict of interest ,
It would cause distrust and second guessing by the public as to whether the case was fairly handled.
In my opinion the SCHP should be the ones investigation along with SLED to maintain a fair and non biased balance to the investigation into the accident involving a public official .
COLOR or race are not factors here I'm sorry if the chief feels that way or anyone else it's Tandy Whose pride got hurt then he decided to go around his boss who said you can't investigate ,
that is called insubordination. Again no matter the skin color.
