I agree. It is too easy for married people to walk away than to deal with the issues at hand. |

I believe that was what this person was saying....or that married couples do have anal and oral sex. If they deny it..they are lying their arse off! |

Totally agree. It is much easier for someone to say that the stereotype doesn't apply to them when it is about their own subgroup. For whatever reason they still assume that all other stereotypes are wrong about other groups though. Some people I just don't understand! |

This is the "real-est" post I've seen on this entire website so far. In any story. |

Thanks bt I'm just keeping it real. I like RWW (he and I have had some fun spirited debates and discussions in the past). He (just like me) sometimes needs a swift kick in the rear to stay on topic. LOL |
I actually find it more entertaining when a thread digresses. Some of the more intellectual debates have stemmed from that. It keeps my attention! |

Sometimes people take themselves and these forums way too seriously. That's when I get to play.:-) As far as the gay issue is concerned, I don't think it's right or natural. BUT, I'm not going to go around bashing 'em and fighting 'em. My life philosphy is 'leave me alone and I'll leave you alone'. Don't force your beliefs on me and I won't force mine on you. Judgment is reserved for God and God only. Gays will have to answer to him, not me. Now, as for a gay club in a public school, NO. If schools aren't allowed to teach about having a responsible and healthy sex life then they shouldn't be allowed to endorse a gay lifestyle either. I don't care what the gays claim, that club is all about sex. Because who you choose to have sex with is the main criteria for being gay or straight. After all you can't have a color tv/ black&white tv awarness club without discussing what makes a color tv a color tv and how it's different from a black & white tv, and why one is better than the other. Think about it. Use logic not emotion. |

Your analogy at the end was wheelie insightful. Sometimes, breaking it down to simplistic thoughts like that can make it clearer for people. I for one agree with you and have seen GSA's devolve into sessions that are very gay inclusionary (or exclusionary for us straights). No matter how you slice it, gay or straight is a direct reference to one's secual preference so though the topics probably wouldn't turn into who's plugging whom, they are still very sexually charged topics of discussion. Heck, even when discussing tolerance, one must understand that which they are expected to tolerate... thus leading to what? More sexual discussion... It's not a healthy discussion for gay or straight teenagers IMHO. |

LOL..Remember those hormones?? Public schools~~~~ do ~~~~give out condoms. Some public school do teach sex Ed. These kids have no one to relate to, they are outsiders that will never 'fit' in because society SAYS their life style is wrong. These kids need someplace to go to or some to listen when no one else does. I agree they should have a place for gays in public schools. These are kids too! What ever guidance they require it should be available. Times a changing and we will eventually have to change with the times. I can remember when our worst nightmare was blacks and whites going to school together. The riots! Now look...we as society think nothing of it. |

The alliance doesn't promote sex but supports a person who happens to be gay and in H.S. Once a straight kid hits puberty, he starts having an attraction to the opposite sex, for a gay person, it's the same sex. Straight teenagers act on those feelings in H.S.: dating the opposite sex, going to dances, and the prom with the opposite sex. The prom doesn't promote sex (although there is plenty of it then) and neither does this club. A gay student would be harrassed to no end if he ever showed his true self in H.S. and all this club wants to do is promote tolerance.

Who they want to screw is acceptable and who they want to pray to is not. REALLY?

People, wake up. The bible is a bunch of bullshit. It is not the word of God. It was written by men and marketed by religious leaders to keep the people under their control. What better way to be able to control people than to have control over their fears. Eternal damnation? Now that's the way to get people's attention.

So many people completely miss the point on the Gay-Straight Alliance. It isn't about sex. It's about sexual orientation. There is a huge difference.
It is a very positive thing to give gay people understanding. It is the morally correct thing to do. It is morally reprehensable to wrap this issue as a religious issue. Should we have protests against girls wearing make-up? Its in the Bible. Should we have protests against girls cutting their hair? It's in the Bible. Should we have protests against eating pork? It's in the Bible. |

1 Good luck on that arguement. Don't you know that the rules against things that the believers do were set aside by the new testament? It is just those things that they are not guilty of that are still being enforced. Funny how that works out isn't it? |
