WLTX, you should be ashamed of the title of this article as it is intentionally VERY misleading in order to draw attention. The article indicates that the (25 yr old) stepson wanted crack, probably threatened to kill or beat the old man if he didn't give him a ride, wouldn't leave his house, and got shot. He got shot for not leaving the man's house, not "over crack cocaine". You guys have some real trash working at that station.

I say give the stepdad a metal. Maybe a good long stay in the hospital will get this young man off the drugs.

No 66-year-old should have to face down a young man who needs a fix without a gun.
Thats BS

Hey, maybe as part of this guy's parole, he can get with Zombie Granny from yesterday's crackheads and teach HER how to say No! Get Out!
For real tho, if some crack smoking fiend came up in my house demanding a ride to the crack house, I said no, and he kept demanding or threatened me somehow, I'd feel justified in gettin out the ole '45 and giving him a whole new Crack....

Are they sure it was not self defense? Crack can make you do stupid stuff just to get it, even attack family. I guess we just have to wait for more info.

If he didn't want the crack cocaine he wouldn't have demanded a ride and he would have left. That's not trash it's the truth.

I agree. It is very misleading. When you read the headline, you think Justice is involved. But after you read the whole article, you know the father couldn't be Justice. WLTX sucks. I'm not sure where these editors are educated- or if they even finished middle school.

You all would seriously shoot your own step-son for something like this. You all need mental help, and soon.

Ugh Duuuuh, that way it's call a title/topic/heading or whatever else you want to label it...the aforementioned as with any other story is not intended to give full details.

This is why it is important to read the story. It appears to me that you like to look at a story's topic and think you are going to get the entire story from a few words. Not the way it works.

Anyway for me... simply by looking at the gentleman picture I knew he wasn't using crack, selling did initally come to my mind, but not a user. I also want to add, I thought crack was a black think, and Meth a white thing... somebody crossed the line. Whoops!!

Definitely misleading title....should be "stepfather shoots crackhead after demanding ride" emphasis on DEMAND....there is more to this story...stepson was probably irrational and stepfather fearful for his own safety...good for him!!! they ought to give him an award for refusing these punk kids ruining our society because we are too afraid to stand up for ourselves..or society cripples us law abiding citizens saying we are unable to discipline own our kids because its "not right!?!?" Plz...come live in my house, pay my bills, and live w/my kids and then you have a right to take a "snapshot" of my life and then judge my parenting skills!..just like the underwear hanging out of their pants....is it really necessary to make a law to tell us whats morally decent...c'mon!!!! Our world is heading for disaster!!!!

i don't think he should have shot him in the chest, but come on, he had to get him out of there. A leg whould have been better. Then, call the cops and let them get him for not leaving the home. Maybe even make the step-son take the cops to the crack house.

never shoot a person unless you are shooting to kill.
plus a chest is a much larger target than a leg.

I think that this man was just standing up for himself and probably shot in self-defense. WLTX is just out to draw attention to another story.
