How did this child go to his room with enough water in his lungs to drown him? Something doesn't seem right aboput this story.

Instead of playing CSI , pray for his family! Why does everything have to be fishy? are you dumbed to the death of a child by the pro choice atheist that you have no feelings at all?

Got to be more to this story. I ain't buying it. I think the cops are playing it close to bring out the truth. The kid was drowned - ie murdered.

He coughed up water, but not all of it. He went home, still felt sick and went to bed. Lying down probably caused any water left in his lungs to pool, sufficating him. It's kind of like a person who has had pneumonia, or is elderly and sick, lies around and fluid builds up around the lungs. They used to call this, "Old Man's Disease". This happens a lot in nursing homes when people are not mobile.

Could someone please interpret statement #3 from this quote?? Perhaps the person you replied to was curious as to how this could happen from a safety standpoint....possibly how to prevent harm to another child. As a parent/grandparent, I'm always looking for ways to protect my loved ones and to pass that knowledge on to others. This is a horrible tragedy, but if we can learn how to prevent this from happening to someone else, it may save some lives. As to how this could have happened, he may have swallowed a large amount of water, then vomited sometime after going to his room, possibly causing him to aspirate(cutting off his airway). His family could not have known that would happen.

Berkeley County Coroner Glenn Rhoad said the boy's lungs were filled with water and he died of asphyxiation.
Rhoad said there was nothing suspicious about the death.
Police say he later complained he was tired and took a nap. When someone checked on him, water was coming out of his nose and he was having trouble breathing.
Something was suspicious; the news story or the death?
