Uh-Oh, looks like the LE powers that be are getting desperate. Unfortunately, this story as reported makes it sound like this is a "last resort" type of tactic for LE to pursue. I hope and pray they get something concrete from all this effort and can nail this scumbag. I'd hate to see this case suddenly go cold.

I truly hope this is the guy and they officially have him off of the streets. That would be good for the public's safety as well as the mental healing of the young lady (to know her attacker is behind bars).

If he is the guy, he won't last one night. If they confirm the DNA results and it spreads through general population, he will not live very long at all. Long enough to suffer, but that's about it.

She was left here for a reason. Such a fighter. Hopefully the attack will not weaken her life, but make her even stronger to make a difference in someone else's life. Stay strong little fighter and know that you are not alone.

They have updated the article since I last posted, and I had not heard of all of the broken bones. He really tried to kill this girl. This is one of those crimes that are so heinous and so close to home that you have a hard time wrapping your mind around it. I am having a hard time typing I am so angry.

What a strong, strong and blessed girl this is to have survived what woud have surely killed another!! To me, this crime deserves capital punishment. The cab drive shows intent, as does the smashing of the cell...any news on the prints from that?? The multitude of injuries suggest he just wanted her hurt badly and dead.

But this girl didn't give in, she fought and got help. Even with a fractured neck, she was able to get help. Hats off to you, "B", as we all pray for a quick and as pain-free as it can be recovery!!

I agree with another poster: you must have a promise and a purpose in you that needs to be fulfilled...you had angels with you that terrible night. Each day of your life is now blessed, and you must live it as such. Again, hats off to this very brave and resilient young lady!!

I know this family and I can tell you, if this is the guy that did this..he better pray the girls father is not allowed to be near this monster. People like this scum bag should not be allowed to sit in a prison and live life with 3 meals a day. Her father should be allowed to do what he wants to this peice of shit.

DNA will prove or discount. I seriously doubt LE would wast their time knowing that DNA will prove them right or wrong. You can't make that up!!

If this is him, I wouldn't give a cent for his life once the gp gets a hold of him. I'd make him wear nothing but a shirt with his crimes listed on it, hand the other inmates a bottle of oil, and leave them alone for a few hours. They can scrape up whatever's left and let the girl's father run over it with a lawn mower.

I truly hope they have the right guy and not some "hispanic" that looks like a picture. I think maybe they should try running the figerprints in the immigration database. I'm not sure if that is actually part of the police database or not but since the late 1990 anyone who is stopped by immigration illegally entering the US fingerprinted. Also for any immigrant that is here legally he had to submit fingerprints when applied for his residency. Just a thought. I really hope they get this maggot off the streets. They need to get this information out to the hispanic community. Posters or whatever. So many hispanics don't watch the local news and would never know about this man. It could be there roommate or their neighbor. Someone knows him!

It absolutely sickens me! As a father of two daughters, I couldn't sleep until I, myself, brought justice to anyone that thought that they could touch my daughters; let alone beat them like this punk did to this precious girl! My heart goes out to her and her family.
