Bush is in the oil business. He is loving it. Heck a cat can piss on your flowers and gas goes up. No reason for this at all .

And no one is cutting back on driving. The lines of SUV's to pick up students at schools here in B-L was just as long as it's ever been. Only a gas shortage is going to put an end to this madness.

Of course gas prices are soaring..especially since it's Memorial Day weekend and oil companies know a lot of people are going to be traveling, especially those people traveling to the beach. I betcha they are saying, "let's drain them to DEATH"

I hear where oil has gone up again, and it's being cut as far as production is concerned... WHY? It's gonna be over 5.00 a gallon very soon the way things are going. Why doesnt this Country come up with alt. fuels? Whatever happened to Gasahol?

They re-did the formula for gasoline some years ago. Now all unleaded fuels contain up to 10% ethanol. There's no need for gasahol, per se.

Get a hybrid. They cost about as much as a Hummer now that they are in demand and get far better mileage.

Actually, Hummers may be cheaper now that no one wants them. I don't know.

I'd buy a yaris or something similar instead of a hybrid because the extra funds paid out will not be recouped in 5 years-plus then I think there is an expensive battery pack that will need replacing.

no need to fuss about the gas prices because you are going to buy it regardless of the price because if you are like me i work everyday and i know i got to gas up so stop complaining and pay it.

With the price of gas this high, I wonder why the City of Columbia can't find someone smart enough to program traffic lights to change when you are sitting at a red light and no one is coming from the other sides.

The American people are mostly responsible for the extreme prices that we are now paying for gasoline.
When I saw a few years ago that gas prices were begining to rise I made sure my next car was a 4 cylinder car that got much better gas milage than the one I was driving.
Now with the continuing rise of gas prices it has helped some, but what is so disturbing to me is to be driving the speed limit or just below to save gas and have people in vehicles with huge engines roar past me like gas is $.50 cents a gallon.
If everyone would just drive slower it could save millions of gallons of gas a day. One or two people can not have a real effect on the price of gas,but think how many millions of vehicles are on the roads in America each day.
I am going to list some tips on how I drive each day in the hopes that more people will start to drive better. 1. when I get in my car I check everything, seats, mirrors, and buckle up before I start my engine. 2. I start slowly and gradually gain speed as opposed to getting to 60 in 60 seconds.3. when approaching a stop signal I start slowing down before I get there.(that helps on the brake pads too)3. I drive no more than the posted speed limit, and most times slightly below like 50 instead of 55 or on the interstate 60 instead of 70. Most people would think this would take a lot longer to get where you are going but in fact I do it all the time and there is not a great deal of difference time wise. Just stay in the slow lane and you don't have to worry about other drivers in front of you or even those entering the highway. 4. Use your cruise control (except when raining) it can keep your car at an even speed much better that you can.5. Leave a little early then you can do these things without worring about being late for whatever you are going to do.6. remove everyhing from your trunk that you possibly can, a lighter car gets better gas milage.7. wait until you gas hand in at 1/4 of a tank (never below 1/4)and then fill up so you won't have to make so many stops at the gas station.8. Buy gas very early in the morning or late in the evening when tempertures are lower for less evaporation.
I beg you drivers to do at least some of these things in the hopes that we can slow the rise of gasoline price. We are on a fixed income and there are no raises to ask for ,no overtime to make we just have do without something else to survive. Together we can make a difference.
Please help!!!

Now that's just gouging. At least 20 cents higher than any other station in Columbia.
