What do you mean cleared??? What on earth was he even investigated for? This story is absolutely ridiculous. There is nothing the trooper did to bring forth any type of criminal investigation into his response to a subject who was actively attempting to take his life. Has everyone gone completely nuts just because of the "videotapes scandal"? Give me break!

I agree now thats scary to think a state trooper is investigated, when someone try to kill him.

I'd hate to think that he would be charged after defending himself. Too bad he didn't take out a couple of these scumbags. He deserves a medal, not fear of prosecution.

He's lucky to be alive. No doubt he expected an investigation after the shooting, there always is. It comes with the job. Hang in there trooper.

That would be a 10 second investigation to me. He was shot at and hit, he fired back, cleared!

Glad to know the trooper is doing well and found innocent.

Where are all the anti trooper critics - I know they are racist.

It is part of procedure that any LE involved in a shooting be reviewed. The totality of circumstances will be scrutinized. In this case, the Trooper had nothing to worry about. Those little thugs were lucky they were not shot after trying to kill the Trooper. In fact, many LE agencies will require a report for just pulling out their duty weapon without ever firing a shot. More reports, more investigations. It is a tough job.
