I am not the original poster, but I go to an anytime fitness in AZ. They claim to be manned from 10 to 5. If that is consistent across gyms, then if the OP was there are 430, the manager should have ben attentive.
My review-- It is a decent basic gym. The machines they have are new. I wish they'd jump on functional training, but the focus is mainly on machines. It would be nice to have other "toys" like bosus, Viprs, kettlebells. This location has some classes but you pay extra for them. I hate to be nickled and dimed considering the membership fee isn't super cheap.
I'm in PT and I've been a trainer for over 20 years. I have seen their trainer work with clients. It saddens me. He allows his clients to perform exercises with poor form. I've overheard him talking about fitness issues--he is poorly informed. I'm not sure if this reflects the company overall.
Overall, if there is a location that is close to you and you know what you are doing, then it could be the right gym for you. If you are considering personal training, do some research before you blindly hire a trainer there.

dont ever join anytime fitness they are a scam you will never be allowed to get out of your contract even after the time is up they got your butt on an auto renewel contract after your ist membership is up you can never get out of a contract...these people are pretty dirty scammers..

You can't base your bad experience at this gym and relate to every Anytime Fitness, that link dying that every McDonalds is ran the same way with the same standards, that's silly. As with every Anytime Fitness along with nearly every gym in the nation, you signed a contract. Because you get angrier about something does not mean you just walk away from your agreement. You owe what you agreed to pay and they have every right to send your account to collections as with any financial agreement..

It seems to me that YOU approached the situation with a bad attitude. She probably WAS leaving for the day, and the hours are CLEARLY marked on the door of all ATF's, you obviously didn't read it. And still you expect her to drop what she's doing to help your stupid ass. Then you have the nerve to question her about why the door is locked, which I'm sure you didn't actually do coz you're not that brave. Just stay home and eat bon bons fatty!

That was Good Friday, and our manager was gone by 3pm. She actually had the day off, but came in to help a few members with their workouts. However, she does remember you, as do several other members who were in the gym that day. And, while I believe that you are sharing your experience as you perceive it, I don't believe it is an impression shared by the other people in the gym that day.
I hope you have found a facility that meets your needs and that you are well on your way to reaching your fitness goals.

What's wrong with all you cry babies? I had an ATF membership, it was great. When I needed to cancel I walked in and canceled. Simple as that!!! As for staff not being there when you're pussy hurts and you want someone to cry about... Get a f-ing therapist!!! These are SMALL business owned by people who usually have OTHER jobs. They have to hire GM's to run daily operations, and usually can't afford to pay someone to stay for all 8 hours. If you have a problem, go back when someone is there. If no one is there, come back another f-ing time. STOP COMPLAINING!!!

We joined the LaVernia, TX Anytime. FITNESS about 6 weeks ago so my husband could continue working on getting his knees to strengthen and bend better after both knees being totally replaced. He is doing great and at the same time I am working out and very much enjoying it and losing weight. The owner / managers are very nice and helpful as well as encouraging. Helped us learn how to use the equipment properly and they do have 2 big screen tvs on the walls. Have joined other fitness centers in the past and never been this happy with any of them

I am a member of anytime fitness in Winchester VA at creek side station shopping center. I am very disappointed in the upkeep of this gym. First the place is past dirty. All the equipment is nasty. Cobwebs all over. Things that need to improved
1. Clean EVERY where
2. No soap in soap dispenser
3. The equipment dirty
4. Most of the cardio equipment is broken or on their last leg
5. Bathrooms are dirty and nasty
6. Most of the weight equipment the padding is ripped
7. Carpet ripped
8. Floors are nasty dirty
9. Tanning room has been broken for a couple months
10. Half the lights are burned out not replaced after 3 months

Do not join this gym. The owner will say anything to get you to sign the contract. The contract is misleading. In the bottom right corner there is something called automatic renewal. This means that unless you give the owner written notice 30 days prior to the end of your contract you will continue to be charged at an increased rate. This gym is a great big waste of your time and money. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else.

I have joined the anytime 7 months ago, the one in campsie NSW.After i changed my address, there is no anytime around my place, so i quit. i had 6 months plan with $45/month , after that, it automatically charged me 65 after my membership expired without ANY NOTICE. I'm so unhappy about this and i told campsie's manager to terminate my membership, she told me to pay another month fee, then she can terminate my membership! is this happened to all anytime fitness? i paid $140 more!!! I hope this is not the way anytime trying to make money!! so disappointed and i will never join anytime.

Extremely disappointed in the Wollengong gym i have recently joined and the staff are extremely arrogant and i definitely would not have joined had i known this i dread having to go in and have anything to do with them. I will certainly be trying to get my membership fees returned. Pity the gym equipment is good and the members are great the staff just need to get over them selves.

My hubby and I just joined after reviewing a few other gyms in the area. Some were considerably less expensive but we loved the atmosphere. The manager was very professional and so far so good. I think with any type of business you need to be upfront if you recieve what is perceived as poor service. I am a former harsh consumer critic of almost every type of service and have grown to understand that businesses are in the business to make money but good ones want to earn your business. They do that be listening to your complaints and addressing them in a win for the consumer and hopefully it will pay off with your repreat business. Let managers know you concerns and if they are not responsive move on but always give them a chance to make it right.

this company is the worst. i have never, in my life experienced such ignorance. the employees seem like they've never been trained and don't relay any of the proper information you need and trying to deal with their corporate office is worse than the automated menus for the gas company. i wish i had never signed up with this place

I’ve not been happy with my membership at the Gainesville, Va Anytime Fitness. I’ve given feedback regarding most of the items listed below, and they never were addressed. I tried to cancel my membership, but was told I would have to pay a cancellation fee that was never mentioned or shown in print when I first joined the gym. Membership looks enticing for this gym because of the $29 a month fee, but it’s not worth it.
Here’s a list of things I found wrong with this gym:
-Mold/Mildew in women’s shower
-Hairballs in the women’s shower
-Stains in the women’s toilet
-Stains in the women’s sink
-Hair on the floor of the women’s bathroom
-Foul smell in the women’s bathroom from a dry drain
-Dust on the equipment
-Malfunctioning equipment (i.e. buttons don’t work)
-Broken equipment lying around
-Cobwebs in throughout the gym
-Owner overheard talking to members about his debt and collectors that call him
The owner is reportedly trying to sell the gym, but can’t find a buyer (I was told his asking price is way too high.) I’ve tried discussing some of the aforementioned items with him and found it very frustrating. He is pompous and condescending.

My brother joined a location nearby and I decided to after he had been talking about it for a few weeks. Seemed like a smart plan. I went with him, and the owner was there but was busy with a client at the time. She told me to feel free to look around while she finished. It was unimpressive, about three of each machine, a weight lifting area, and two bathrooms (which I was told are just bathrooms, no showers and no lockers). They had some vending machines and some cubbies which don't lock. There was a schedule of classes, most of which are free for members. It seemed okay because I'm not looking for a really intense workout, just a place to run on a treadmill a few days a week. When I finally spoke to the owner, she seemed very strange and extremely antisocial. I told her right off the bat I was just looking but when I started to ask questions she handed me a membership form and a pen. Kind of annoying but it seemed like an ok deal. The first time I went I scanned my key and the door wouldn't open. I tried it a dozen times, both sides, and it still wouldn't open. It was 7 o'clock so the offices were already closed. I didn't go to the gym I signed up at, but was told by that owner that I could attend any location. I was pissed but whatever. So I went home and called the main office number on the website to inquire if I had somehow tripped a security measure or if my key was faulty. The main hotline was all automated, and everytime I pressed the button for customer service it rang about ten times and directed me back to the main menu. It was 7:30 at night. After staying on the line for fifteen minutes thinking there had to be someone, since it's a 24/7/365 chain gym, I hung up and called the security hotline number. Just to clarify, this number is for lost keytags and is located on the BACK OF THE KEYTAG. A guy answered pretty quickly, and sounded very annoyed, but I quickly explained the situation and asked if he could help. Come to find out I would have to directly contact the gym I signed up at for any technical issues. At this point I'm irritated but not enough to cancel my membership. However, if it continues to be such a hassle I would not feel bad at all about canceling and never going back, which sucks because 24 hour access is pretty convenient.
