I don't know you to say if I like or dislike you. I do dislike the negative attitude you put forth on this site. I just read the membership list yesterday, very bottom of the first page, left side in red.
well if you would go back and read all of the post you will recall the many insults and questions you have brought to me, and as I still say, you have a problem with questions that have not been asked. As far as when a trial is coming up try calling SLED as we are just as eager to put this to rest as everyone else, however, SLED is in the business of not sharing that type of info for obvious reasons.

Practice what you preach, my dear.
<quoted text>You have no idea of what each member of Council brings to the table and for that matter it really is no one’s business
Oh my, are you sure about this as a citizen/voter?
<quoted text>.. however the questions and comments that are posted on the GIC website go unanswered because they are not reaching those that can provide answers.
JMO-there should be an outlet where residents can get their answers online (up with the times)quicker rather once a month at a town hall meeting so that the answers can be VIEWED by the residents instead of bombarding via telephone calls. I did see a "Bivens" post on this thread a while back. So it can be done anywhere via the web..

Since you've repeated this several times, you seem to have a obsession with him and this GIC group? Are you like this to all community groups in Gaston? JMO - no offense.
Still looking for something wrong with this GIC...

It is his choice to answer the concerns of the residents ANYTIME they ask whether it is by letter, telephone, email, town hall meetings, or websites. That gives the residents priority, the highest quality of "customer service".

So true lokkop.
A lot of them need guidance
A lot of them need to be educated themselves
A lot of them are clueless - there's the entertainment
A lot of them are devoted to Gaston and enjoy things happening
A lot of them do not even care so they are reading to cast the first stone?

How sad that when the GIC runs an announcement for the enjoyment of the general public you have to trash it with your childish retorts. If you choose to attend any event in the Gaston area chances are someone involved is related to at least one council member. Those of us who enjoy the information posted on the GIC website can at least have the satisfaction of knowing that despite your constant complaining you are in fact still viewing it.

You seem to not like me very much which is suprizing since I get along with just about anyone.
I just visit GIC site to see what the latest gossip about me is. I noticed the membership list is gone, and the trafffffffic has slowed down

No apology for your post?
Instead you are looking for gossip about you?
BTW-my family visited the bluegrass jam before. Great group of families and the music was foot-stomping.

As I said, investigate before you criticize others.
I must commend you. That is the best advice and everyone, including yourself, should do so.

Everyone should practice what you preach. If you offer the advice, you best have been setting the example.

Instead of fighting....work together. Gaston's future depends on the coming together instead of this tug-of-war. After reading so many posts, where are good samaritans of our era? I could name a few and those do not include all the council members. And that is my opinion. This town is small but can grow if everyone gets off their high-horse, and that includes you and me, and see how we can get this town ON THE MAP, if you know what I mean. If the town officials can't do it for whether reason (not going there), then it is up to us - parents, grandparents of the children, who, loppok stated, are the future.- JMO

I agree with you 100% if the questions were making it to the ones that are in a position to answer. Keep in mind that the town website was linked to this organization and the questions were being answered by this man who has aspirations for a seat on council but does not have the answers and is not in a position to offer answers(not a elected official).

Not missed GIC is a joke- there has been a great deal of info deleted-including my personal issue of displaying a my minor child's name and information by looking up her email and addressing her by name instead of by her Screen name. All of the Vote for Steven Dailey/GIC for town council 2011 has been removed...but I got copies. Not sure if they are aware that it is illegal to use government property to campaigne????

Thumbs up to CouncilWoman Ross for trying to reason with the rest of Council on the pricing and wording of the Civic Center Rental agreement. Thumbs down to Crystal Bivens for passing off as new the same home repair funding that has been available for years.

With the availability of meeting rooms at the library and cheaper rates on private event locations nearby the new facilities at the Civic Center are not looking like an economically sound choice.

WOW-had you been listening during the meeting instead of speaking to your nieghbor during the meeting you would have heard that this grant went into effect on April 15,2009. Block grant funds have been availible to states since 1976 however they are renewed on a regular basis.

So my understanding is that you took the simple fact that the Mayor shared information with the public as a thumbs down to me??? Interesting...because to me that sounds as if you do not want anyone to share information but you.
The new applications were made availible for the publics(living in the Town of Gaston) benefit. So basically, you will complain if I attend or don't attend town functions, participate or not, speak up or remain silent, help others or not. Your comments alone are an indicator that your purpose is not to benefit the town but to benefit yourself.

For those that ARE interested:

AMOUNT OF ASSISTANCE
The program can provide up to $7,500 in assistance for eligible minor repairs. All potential homes must meet the 2003 International Property Maintenance Code as determined by Lexington County building inspectors to be considered. Homes with major repair needs may be unable to receive assistance depending on the scope of repairs.
WHERE IS THIS PROGRAM AVAILABILE?
The program assists residents of Lexington County. As of April 15, 2009, this program is available to homeowners of unincorporated areas of the County as well as homeowners in the City of Cayce, City of West Columbia, Town of Chapin, Town of Lexington, Town of Irmo, Town of Springdale, Town of Gaston, Town of Swansea, Town of Pelion, Town of Batesburg-Leesville, Town of Pine Ridge, Town of Summit, Town of Gilbert or the Town South Congaree.

Applications are availible at Gaston Town Hall

It would seem that a better way to handle this would have been for Mrs. Bivens to provide the information to Mr. Bivens to assign to Coucil to research and then give a report to the public. If it is indeed new funding then perhaps a presentation from a Lexington County Official in charge of the program would be in order. I do recall reading her repeated requests that people stop asking her questions as she is not the elected official in the family.
