This is clearly someone who doesn't know anything about the farm subsidy system, what it does, or how it works. Just some joker who is providing the pot and waiting for someone else to stir it.

The sewer is for the benefit of all in the Scuppernong Township. It has been in the works for several years now.Mr.Spruill is not going to use his farm land for subdivisions.Or homesites. The sewer system will hardly benefit him.Hes does plan on developing a small area next to us hwy 64.With is to small to farm. And is a low area. But would be a good spot, for some shops. And county water has been in the whole area for some time now. What he gets in Farm Loans and subsaties. Is between him and the Government.Unless you can prove,he is doing things illegal. It would be best to keep thoses things to yourself.Harry and his brother Tommy.Dont get along too well.Thats why they split, and went seperate ways.

That info is available to anyone savvy enough to enter the proper search phrase ... but why type in a link? Then we'd have more folks like "Enough" who want to spread gossip and stir up trouble. No need to give 'em information.

If you really want to know, the net is your answer.

You wouldn't happen to have the figures on how much in local taxes they paid during the same time frame, would you? That would be an interesting piece of information to know.

Farm land is taxed at present use value or $1,200/acre.
Tyrrell tax rate=.74/$100 of valuation.
1200 x .0074= 8.88
$8.88 per acre.
So to answer your question Farmer "not much".

I do not agree with the Subsidies.Mainly because this comes from tax payer's money.I dont get a subsidy.I work hard for what i get.The government dosent help me.So why should they help them.Well on the other side.We wouldnt have any farmers. No one wants to work, for nothing.Just look at the food shortage now.Because of this high cost to make ethenol. Most of the grains are going to make fuel. That you cant even buy in most places.Where is this fuel going. The government maybe?Dont forget farmers pay taxes too.And i'm not just talking about on land.Farmers are dissapearing. You work yourself to death. And when they retire. They end up with little of nothing. And sell the land to make subdivisions. Now can the US,stand to have all its prime farm land.Turned into homes and concreate.I dont think soo.Or we will starve. But now the farmers are making some cash.Everyone wants to complain. What about all the guys and gals, that work on those farms. In which i was one for years.Who dont make much money. And usually dont have any benefits.Other than a weeks vacation with pay.And i thought the Government ended set-aside or layout land.I still see farmers geting money for that.Thats wrong. To get money not to plant anything.I wish i could get money for nothing. Its time for a change. If its a bad year, then help'em out.Other wise, let them work for what they get.Try to support a household off $7.00 an hour. Then you have the right to complain. But the government dosent want to hear that.Theres got to be another way.Now farmers are making good money. No need to get free handouts from the Government!!!!!

N.C. farmers dive into corn
Demand for all uses of corn is escalating -- as food, as a fuel, as feed for cows, poultry and pigs -- and that's one factor driving prices up worldwide.

Yes they are.But the majority of corn and soybeans are going for biofuel.I belive they are saying 60%.With very little export now.By the way,the research by the NSF and some others. Are saying, corn is not a cost effective way to make fuel. But again the Government is subsiding it.Not just as a grain, but as a fuel. This makes it a double wammy for farmes.

Without subsidy payments, the farmers that PROVIDE your food would go out of business. So, NO farmers NO food NO clothes. Get It!!
If you want to get on a subject worth while, look at all these people that are able to work and are just sitting around having kids and collecting Welfare Checks.

Don't pay any attention, F.A.-- this is from someone trying to stir up trouble. Probably one of those sitting around drawing a check. Plenty of them on this forum.
