Barry and Cathy Cottrell are my parents. I am now 33 years old and haven't been to their house in years. At the time of the storm I was living in Providence, RI. I spoke to my dad a couple of days before the storm as he was rushing around trying to board up the house. For the next couple of days the family was freaked out because the phones were down and we knew that Cathys mother and Uncle were staying at 424 and 420 E. Beach. It was a scary couple of days for me. I still haven't been there and thought I had a grasp on the damage until I just saw your before and after pictures of my familys properties. Now childhood memories of Mr.Don raising the flag, and Mrs. Clower in her golf cart taking care of the Camelias, and of course Mrs. Catherines gumbo come back to me through the tears. I really hope that the locals there don't give up. The place means more to me than I ever knew. Stay strong Gulfport. You have my prayers.

Why doesn't anyone care about the abuse, neglect and torture of those
children at the Columbia Mississippi Training School? Don't we know that
those children are going to grow up and be apart of our society? I don't
know about you guys but I would like to get those children the care and help that they need now rather than later. If those children don't get the care to deal with the abuse, neglect and torture that they endured
now, I don't think we are going to be ready to deal with it later. When
the children start to express the aggression and anger that will be shown
to many unsuspecting Innocent people that don't know what is going on, "Mississippi is going to have hell on their hands", and then the State of Mississippi is going to be trying to give these children the death
penalty which is lethal injection.
