I searched around for tattoo shops that i would feel comfertable with the people piercing my nipples. I am very happy I decided on blackthorn. They have multiple piercers and were able to pierce my nipples at the same time. And they did it for half the price of the other shops I looked at. Thankx blackthorn..I will be back

I came in for there special $75 for $100 gift certificate. I was getting it for my brother and ended up with a tat! They were so friendly, I just got to bull shitting with them and felt so comfortable I just decided to go ahead and get one. It was one I had wanted for a while. It goes hard. Since it was my first one I was worried how bad it would hurt. I'm glad that I went to Blackthorn because it really didnt hurt that bad. I was scared because of horror stories of other places digging on people or scaring them. I'll be back.

I am so impressed with the Blackthorn Family that I will never use another tat shop again. The have found a lifetime customer in me and my husband. I feel like my family has become a part of theirs after just spending one day in their shop. Ten years ago I would never have taken my kids into a tattoo shop but Blackthorn has changed that paradigm. My two kids loved not only the shop but the wonderful people there too. They were so accommodating and helpful that I totally trusted them to watch my kids while I got my piercing and while my husband got his tat. They have a large front area with a large screen TV playing kids movies all day. They even have a room full of toys to keep the kids busy. My kids loved it. As for my husbands tat, it is absolutely amazing. Rich and Cali took a standard military insignia and made it something really special. They took the time to research it, draw several variations and create a one of a kind piece of art, making it special in every way. As for my piercing, Rich and his assistant made me feel super comfortable and guaranteed all his work. I even get to come in to have my piercing changed monthly until I feel comfortable enough to do it myself. Everytime I get to Columbia, I plan to drop in to see my new friends. I know how personal tats and peircings are to those of us who get them, and I was so impressed with them that I felt the need to get the word out. Please check them out, they are not your average shop, they are a Family of talented artists and friends! Much love , Val!

I am heavily tattood and very successful. Most really good paying jobs in the midwest require a shirt and tie. I have both arms fully sleeved and you can't see them when I'm at work. By the way, I'm in my 40's and doing better than most people in the area where I live.

To the poster expressing their bible belt views, that's fine. You have your opinion and I have mine. I travel for work all over the country and I'v e noticed that in the bible belt the views are pretty conservative, however, on the west coast the most successful people are heavily tattooed. Most of the millionaires I know and work with are heavily tattooed and they are far more successful than someone with a decent job in the midwest.

just went to them on 12/6/12 and i whole-hertedly say they are something special. i've had my piercings and my tats done by selfish, inconsiderate people who made me question why i was even there. not because i was uncertain of the tattoo/piercing i was paying for but their actual intentions and motives. if you aren't doing something you love, you're not going to put everything you have into it. hands down this place made me happy, as if i was with my best friends (and dont we all wish our besties could tattoo/pierce us?? let's not kid ourselves)...i'll be back in a heatbeat. thank you Blackthorn!!!!!!!!!

I have gotten a piercing done by Rich and a tattoo done by lex and I can honestly say that both were exceptionally done. They are very professional and the place is really clean. When you walk in your immediately greeted and helped with any questions you have. I plan on getting any other work I want done here. I have seen tattoos that Lex, Rich, and JJ have all done and can say that all three are exceptional artists. 10 out of 10 for this awesome tattoo studio.

I just find it very strange that so many of our young people would want to "Mark" themselves for life, and doom themselves to a life of 2nd class citizenry. No employer is going to hire someone who looks like a Freak Show for anything other than the most menial of jobs, and low wages. There is nothing wrong with a discrete tattoo that can be concealed by normal clothing, but when a person starts making themselves look like a Walking Billboard, or has chunks of scrap metal hanging from their faces, or embedded in their tongue, which makes them talk like they have some sort of speech impediment, they relegate themselves to a low level of public presence. Rest assured, most of those who participate in this Fad, will regret the day that they engaged in such activity.
However, if you are silly enough to do this to yourselves, you can be sure that when you are just barely getting by, financially, at age 40, someone else will be enjoying the good life that you could have had.
There is one good option....learn how to remove these "mutations". A few years from now, when these people mentally mature, there will be a thriving business for those who can restore their
appearances to normal.
There are a few problems with your idiotic know everything attitude. First off it is illegal for any employer to discriminate for any reason, tattoos and piercings included! Secondly even law offices and corporations are willingly hiring people who have tattoos or piercings. Third and possibly most importantly, I have tattoos and piercings and own a successful business, where i would sooner hire a tattoo having face piercing wearing hard working person, over a whiney, holier than thou, prudish baby. Who is so insecure about their self that they find absolution in judging other people.

I got my tattoo done a couple weeks or so ago by JJ and he did a quick, swift and great job on my tattoo. It still looks great and he does a great job. All my future tattoos will be done by JJ for sure!

Well tonight I took my 5 year old daughter's earrings off that I had gotten pierced at the mall about three months ago. They looked pretty bad, so I called Blackthorn, who I had never done business with and knew nothing about, and asked them what I should do. They asked me if I could bring her in, and I did. They gloved up and went to work. Turns out my daughter's ears were infected (my own fault) and were in pretty bad shape. After about an hour, we were out of there with clean ears, new earrings, and all the cleaning instruction I needed. They were all so sweet to my girl and had her giggling the entire time. The place was clean and tidy, and overall it was a great experience.

This place is awful. The people are extremely rude. My best friend wanted a tattoo of her dad initials and the female tattoo artist, Lex, was so rude to her about it and she ended up not doing it. Such rude people.
