You know, if Jesus Christ himself asked to place his cross in columbia the idiots would probably still say no. Coulmbia Homeowners Association stay out of everybody else's business. If I own a piece of land in columbia I'm gonna do what I dm well please on it. The only part of your name that has any truth to it is the first three letters of the last word then add an es

Typical liberals b*tching about the little things. I'm so glad I don't belong to an HOA and if I ever move again, that will be the first thing on my Criteria. HOA's are nothing but pains in the rear. Seriously, who wants to pay some jerk homeowners dues just so he/she can tell you how to live. Ridiculous.

I'm with you on this Disgusted. HOA's are a bunch of morons. Period.

The U.S. was founded as a Christian nation, no matter how hard liberals and The ACLU try to say it wasn't. If they wanted to hang a Muslim symbol instead of a Christian one Iam sure the same liberal's would say it was part of being "Inclusive"!!! Way Way tired of liberals!

That's ridiculous. It's a religious center that they are placing the cross on.

That's like a vegetarian complaining that the Wendy's near their house displayed a photo of a hamburger aka mutilated cow, where they could see it.

Get over yourselves!

It is time to raise the cross everywhere. I see W has one down on the ranch in Texas. If he dared put one up on the White House Lawn, all the Christian haters and bangers would be screaming their heads off and starting law suits and demostrations. Same thing in Columbia. Being a pagan myself and proud of it, I still do not object to the cross as it repersents the will of the majority, something some minorities do not understand.

I wish you could believe in Christianity but you do not. That is your right and your belief. Thanks for the sensible comment. It kind of reminds me of the "When in Rome, Do as the Romans Do".

So we have A town founded on the idea that all faiths should be brought together and live in harmony and has for many, many years used "interfaith centers" where many different religious are practiced, and where those faiths have never put up signs of their religions as a respect to the other faiths. Then finally one Christian denomination just cant take it, and needs to "plant their flag" (or cross) on the interfaith center, so that everyone will know that by "interfaith" they mean christian. Then when some people don't like this breaking of tradition (in columbia), they get called names and are called "sensitive" by supporters of this idea. When in practice this is a clear case of one christian denomination wanting "special treatment" and getting all "sensitive" when told they are no special than anyone else.
At the least this shows that some christians have no desire to play nicely with any other religion, or their fellow citizens.

The churches that occupy that building use the cross as their symbol. So what's the deal? I'm sure if churches in the other buildings wanted to posted their symbols they could. What would be more unified than a display of all symbols, hmmm?

Well since everyone had previously agreed not to do it (that's pretty unified), it would seem odd that your definition of "unified" is for everyone else to do as this one denomination wants do. So your definition unified is for one group of a community to define the community for everyone else?

That's funny... this is a harmonious and inclusive town, but they're complaining about the church putting up a cross!? Hmmm... am I missing something? Funny how we're inclusive of everyone and tolerant of everything EXCEPT the TRUTH!
