Thanks, you guys. These gnats are awful. Tomatoes draw gnats terribly.I'll try your remedy.

I had a baby two ago and her diapers are attracting these nasty gnats! I find my husband killing them left and right, but it seems like they come in two's. What can I do?? I don't want them bugging my baby like they do me! Can anyone help me??!!

There can also be gnats if you have house plants. If the soil is too moist on the top gnats can appear.

I'm about to go crazy with having gnats. I have tried putting out a jar of vinegar and i'm not for sure if thats working yet or not but if anyone else has any ideals please share them. It would be greatly appreciated.
The easiest way is to remove what they are attracted to. They will disappear quickly. They are actually fruit flies and will hover over any fruit or stinky item.

Are you, uh, keeping the diapers? They should probably be disposed of unless you collect them...am I missing something here? Sounds quite simple. Change diaper. Dispose of diaper. Repeat.

The same thing happened to us. Even though when you dispose of the pampers in one of those nice expensive diaper pails we all had to have, they still won't go away. We just started throwing the diapers outside daily instead of waiting for the pail to be full. I know it is alot of work, especially with a baby and no sleep, but it is better than having to swap at gnats all day and night. Hope this helps.

They like APPLE vinegar more than anything. white vinegar has no effect. If they look orange these are not gnats but babay fruit flies. Fruit flies only like sweet stuff.
Although Apple Vinegar works, so does white Vinegar. I've used both with the same results. In a small bowl, mix equal parts vinegar and dish soap. Leave it on the kitchen counter until it gets full of gnats. You can replace the mixture every couple days until the gnats are gone.

It stinks to high heaven, but it works!

Try burning incense in the areas here they congregate, such as the kitchen and dining area. Bugs don't like smoke of any type. Any the incense is cheap! But, remember to get a burning rack for it.

Hi, I have had for the past couple weeks nagging bugs in my bathroom. My window sill is covered every morning and my counter, floor and other surfaces have some of the bugs that are dead.
I clean up the bathroom and hours later, there are a few flying around on the ceiling. I kill them with a bug spray, spray the inside/outside of the perimeter of the house and windows and start all over again.
I blocked my shower drain but that didn't stop them.
How can I determine where they are coming from? How can I kill them?

Do you have a ceiling vent? Might be from there. Try setting off bug bombs throughout your house, setting one close or in the bathroom.

Slice some bananas or other fruit- put into a bowl- cover tightly with plastic wrap, and poke small holes in with a toothpick. They will find their way into the plastic, but can't find their way out. Once you've caught several, take them outside- too far away to fly right back inside.
