I'm about to go crazy with having gnats. I have tried putting out a jar of vinegar and i'm not for sure if thats working yet or not but if anyone else has any ideals please share them. It would be greatly appreciated.

There is spray that you can get from Wal-Mart it is safe to be used in the kitchen and around food, children, pets etc...I use it and most of the time it works...

You have to put out cider vingar and more than one jar , put out one or two in the kitchen and one in the bathrooms and make sure you are not putting food scraps in your garbage or leaving food out open and with it being summer time if you have fresh garden stuff out in your kitchen that will draw the gnats in too.

I have a lot too. I have tried ivory soap scraps in a bowl and that has helped some too.

As two others said, vinegar and dish soap. Dawn works the best.

The vinegar smell attracts the gnats.

The dish soap kills the gnats.

Put it on the kitchen counter at night and leave a small light on. In the morning, it will be full of gnats. Keep making a fresh mixture until gnat problem is gone.

Don't lay out any garden fruit or veggies on the kitchen counter! Thats how you get them. This includes banannas and potatoes that are going bad.

They like APPLE vinegar more than anything. white vinegar has no effect. If they look orange these are not gnats but babay fruit flies. Fruit flies only like sweet stuff.
