If everybody is so worried about banning smoking in public places due to health reasons, why not outlaw gasoline engines and factories and outdoor trash burning and outdoor grilling and every-damn-thing else that produces harmful smoke? I mean,c'mon...let's go all out or shut up and leave it alone. I think I'll open up a restaurant or a store or something for "SMOKER'S ONLY" and see how people like that!lol!

Just like passing GAS, there's more room out than in, so there is more breathable air outside than inside a closed room. Just one question, "Would you smoke if you knew an adult or especially a child sitting in a closed area had a severe breathing problem?" Wait a minute--you're probably so self-centered you just wouldn't care!

I don't smoke, but I have friends & family who smoke. I don't think it is good for your health to smoke. I don't think it is economical to smoke. However, if I ran a restaurant or a coffee shop, tavern or other such businesses, I would allow smoking. I would also provide proper ventilation to draw the smoke out. I don't want people smoking in my house and I don't think children should be exposed to great amounts of smoke. People have gone crazy in this country wanting to impose laws on other people because it is the way they think things should be. There are places that you can't even smoke outside. That is ridiculous. Some people just need to get a life.

if i had it my way, the world would be smoke free...have you ever seen a person whose LUNGS are diseased from cigaretts smoking ,,,if you have,,,then tell me you still approve.....and then watch how many billion"s of dollars are spent annually on health care if you want to smoke,,,,then smoke , and when you get sick. please pay your own dr. bills ....leave medicare out of it..thats my say on smoking.

Yeah, smoking can kill you and others around you(or so they say)but guess what...so can drinking,un-safe sex, prescription drugs,driving...the list is literally endless...(ever watch "1,000 Ways To Die"? lol)...so why single out smokers? Is it because discrimination on the grounds of race, gender, sexual preferences and such has become "politically incorrect" and people just GOTTA have something to bitch and moan about? Of course, you have a "right" to whine if you wanna...just as I have a right to smoke a cigarette if I wanna and if anybody tries to tell me otherwise, their forehead just might be used as an ashtray...put THAT in your pipe and smoke it!!!

Has anyone ever noticed when people go out to eat they WILL sit in the smoking section, if that is all that is open. But they hate smoke. Go figure.

Yeah,I know...people just want something to complain about. If THEY don't do it,it's automatically wrong and nobody else should do it either. Hell, the government tried to cram THEIR way down everybody's throat with prohibition and alcohol way back when and see what happened. But it seems like people were more willing to stand up and fight for their rights than they are these says instead of just crying about it. Oh well...think I'll fire me up a big ol' "cancer-stick" and take a few more minutes off my life! lol

I won't do it, but those who do are possibly just gambling that no one will smoke while they are there.

How would you who insist on your "right" to smoke in restaurants like it if I walked over to your table and released a big, smelly fart. Would you like to smell that while you ate? What if I brought my dog in and let him sh!t in the floor right beside you, with that aroma mixing with each bite you took? Do you want someone who hasn't bathed in over a week sitting in the booth next to yours?

It's not just about health, it's about people having to smell the smoke. Just because something is "legal" or allowed by the restaurant doesn't mean you have to do it. Go outside. To do otherwise is just selfish, and there is no other way to frame it.

Oh, and by the way, I love a good cigarette now and then, but I do it outside and away from people who don't want to be around it. It's just the way I am, you know?

Smokers should have enough respect for those with breathing problems to not complain when they have to go outside to smoke. They could someday have a child/grandchild who has issues with getting enough oxygen and then they would understand
