Why call the annex? What good does that do? No wonder they have such a bad reputation. No one should get a job just because their mother works there. Rusty's gone and he was the one that made all those postions for his sisters. They are all gone. But even with the investigation why aren't the hiring practices being questioned? Is it just me, or do others notice an attitude in the air when you walk in that hospital? Like they are self important. They hire all these young girls to work there (because their mommys are on staff) and then they don't want to wait on you or even look up from their magazines to answer a question or two. Why not give the jobs to people who want to work and do their best?!

No, I don't think the magazine thing is pushing it. Not trying to be disrespectful. Just relaying my experience.

Ok. Where did you see somebody reading a magazine and did not lay it aside to help you? What department was it? Who was it? If this happened, you would have reported it right then and there. Are you trying to make this about the hiring practices of the hospital or about someone not doing their job? There is a difference. Make your point. Lay it on out there, who are you wanting to talk about?

i will say one thing , i go to westlake regularly for a procedure . i have noticed some things , there does not seem to be much activity at westlake . used to be a fairly busy place with lots of people and staff moving about carrying out various activities . now it seems like a ghost town . i always thought it was a nice hospital and i have always been treated just fine there before tungate left and afterwards also . it just seems different now . im not taking sides on the tungate thing . just my opinion .

I don't appreciate you suggesting that I am lying! I have no reason to. I am not going to talk about anyone specific! I will say it was at the Admissions Desk. So draw whatever conclusion you want from that. Why would I have reported it right then and there? They responded to me to a point but acted like they would rather have been having a root canal and were bored out of their mind! It is both about hiring practices and someone not doing their job. It seems to go hand in hand. People should not be hired just because their mothers happen to work there. I think it gives them the impression they don't have to perform their jobs as well as they might have to otherwise.

The Addmissions Desk is similar to the bank. Their job is to sign people in, take the money for the co-pay if there is one, file paperwork and to send you on your way. In no shape, way or form is it in their job description to treat anyone. I've seen people at the bank playing solitaire, on Facebook, and various other non-work related applications. Does it hurt their job or their work perfomance if they do not have a customer, and their paperwork is done? No. Do I hear you talking about al of the other places this SAME EXACT THING goes on? No.
As far as "to get hired your mommy has to be an employee," that's absurd. I'm not saying that there're not mothers whose daughters work there. But, have you seen their resumes? No. Do you know how qualified a particular applicant is over another? Job experience? Education? Disposition? No. Have you ever put in an application for something YOU are QUALIFIED to do there? Probably not. You'll probably even respond back with some comment about how you'd never want to work there or maybe it'll be over your dead body. Anyway, I'm sure it'll be real classy.
Have a nice day!:)

I have no problem with anyone doing other things, when their work is caught up. That was not my complaint. Yes, read your magazine, be on Facebook and whatever else is allowed by your employer during work hours. BUT... when a customer or patient happens to walk up, those things should be put to the side. You should not continue to sit propped up on your elbow, flipping pages of a magazine or looking at Facebook and act like you are being bothered. That goes for any place of business not just at the hospital. I've never had a job were I was allowed these things, even during so called "down time". There was software to make sure computers weren't used for any type of personal things. Even though there was a cleaning lady, if your work was caught up, you went and cleaned bathrooms or whatever. You were still being paid. Yes, I have applied for jobs at the hospital and was over qualified for the ones I put in for. But would have been more than happy to have been hired. I do get your point about me not seeing their Resumes. But someone fresh out of high school doesn't really have a Resume, do they? I'm not trying to attack anyone. Just a little jaded from being out of work so long and trying hard to find a job. Some of us really do want to work and support ourselves.

If you go to the ER and Dr. Rockhold is there, I would leave immediately. He is so terribly rude. It was the worst hospital experience of my life!

Thank goodness! He was so rude to me my blood pressure went sky high and he let me leave in danger of stroke and gave me a rx that would raise my blood pressure! Idiot. I do not know how someone as rude as him sleeps at night.

I've spoken to several other people who have dealt with him as well and they all said the same thing...he's terribly rude.

If he hates his job that bad, he needs to find another career!
