Not everyone has sitters for children, and not everyone can have money for csrs plus insurance on that car, so come live in the real world.
Not everyone sits on their hind end expecting a handout either, you have to look for a job, they don't come knocking on your door, employers do not hire people that are dirty looking or unkept looking, uneducated people, or ones that are dope heads, or in trouble with the law, now having ruled those out, a job can be found by most, it may not be what you want, the pay may not meet your expectations, but jobs can be found, but you have to have a few things to offer a employer and be welling to work, working at McDonalds probably wouldn't suit the well fare group, but it is a job, but even they want clean, nice people, but complainng and making excuses is old history, this is the real world.

Taking a pay cut is better than being unemployed. People can't afford to let their pride get in the way these days. Times are hard and jobs are hard to come by. They should have been thankful for what they had. I know many who would have traded places with them. Me included.I lost a job where I was only making min. wage. Some think it's silly to be upset about that. But a min. wage job is better than no job.

Liberals always fail to mention benefits ,.. when talking about wages ,...

i guess benefits are not very important ,...

so why dont the employers just CUT them ALL OUT ?

if the libs dont think they are very important any more ,.........

why should employers still GIVE THEM AWAY ?

It's not up to me to give them a job. They need to find their own job like I did. Also on the issue of sitters for children, what keeps them from paying a sitter or daycare like I have had to do over the years? So, honey, I do live in the real world! You're the one who obviously don't!

give them food ----
give them health insurance ,..----
give them free housing ---

they all would have simply starved to death

Liberalism has become a new ' reverse Darwinism ',...

you are right..some that make good money feel invincible. They make things difficult for their employers, those companies that cannot pay high wages, and end up losing it all.

how long have you had "your" job? Bet its been awhile. Are you a skilled worker or other? Many do not have enough education, they don't have a second paycheck in the household, and oh yea, daycare and sitters often have waiting lists or charge considerably. So I don't like condescending people. Its obvious you are not in tune with poor peoples issues. What the world was like when I held jobs isn't the world I'm in now.

<quoted text> I disagree with you. How many families in your area are on foodstamps, afdc, ssi, ssd, unemployment? Many, I would say. And all that junk food costs more. And you complain about people shopping one day a month? Get real. If you are so dusgusted by poor people, keep your azz home until after the tenth of the month, then you won't be offended by what they buy, and they won't be offended by your fake piousness. This is how you sound to people.
Its obvious that you get assistance. If you worked everyday to pay for your things instead of abusing assistance you would would know why the working people get tired of keeping up the freeloaders. If people would get out and actually look for a job they would find one. People are to quick to say their are no jobs to find so im gonna take advantage of all the working class and let them keep me up.

Many look for a job...you quipped those needing help should go out and get a job.I assumed you might be able to help someone find work, since there are so many jobs in Taylor County..oh wait..that is a mistake.

okay self indulgent einstein. Many people I know who are looking for a job are NOT dirty, they have an education, they are not criminals yet there are forty applications for one job. And even then, no one is hiring. But lets talk about ex-felons, mothers on welfare, people laid off. They need jobs, too. Many had rather work than barely exist on the paultry amount they draw. Not everyone that is poor wants to live that way. To believe this makes one a fool.

There is no doubt that you are an ass. Every time someone stands up for the less fortunate, you a__holes label them as getting assistance or live in trailers. I've had union jobs and I have had professional, skilled jobs. Don't stamp your self-serving labels on those who disagree with you. Your empathy for your fellow man is iverwhelming. God forbid if someone within your own family circle needed help. You would throw them to the gutter. There are people who abuse the system..just as rich commit crimes just like the poor. To condemn everyone is wrong.

I often worked 60 hour weeks, paid taxes, donated to charities, performed volunteer work when my job permitted and I never complained about helping anyone who needed help.Guess that's the difference..I give a damn and you dont...

Okay .. food stamps are for a purpose to feed people food.. Not junk food !!! the goverment should restrict certain items .... Teach cooking classes to receipiants so they can make the allowance stretch for a month.. I have to budget my food money and use common sense.. we all can get trapped buying easy and cheap foods ... teaching people to buy fresh fruits and veggies or even frozen veggies is good. everyone needs to eat healthier.. no matter what the income level.. MAC AND CHEESE is not real food its Junk and eveyone likes it once and a while. I would love to see a change in the program ...anyone else have ideas on this subject

You made several interesting points. Teaching recipients how to stretch their food is great. Also, using more vegetables and fruit is good, too. The only drawback is macaroni helps stretch the budget, because fresh fruit and vegetables have become costly. I'm a diabetic and budgeting for these items gets tough. But there are menus that a person could change up or substitute to go farther. Many simply do not know how to cook meals without it being heat and eat. That could be changed. Hand out booklets on cooking, or provide a class to teach people how to make the most of their foodstamps.

The people in my family work for a living. They are not looking for handouts. You have the mentality of a loser who always complains i cant do this or that. Your right i dont have any sempathy for someone that sits on their ass and is to lazy to provide for thier own. The reason the goverment is broke is because every lazy bum with their hand stuck out looking for a free ride. You can try to justify it all day long but anyone who works for what they have will not agree with you. Like i said before if unemployed people were looking very hard for a job they would have one. Its easier for them to complain that they cant find a job than actually go to work.. It is pretty sorry for people who do work to pay all the taxes for someone that is to sorry to try to better themselves. Keep trying to make it sound ok and you will continue to look like a fool.

If it was up to me i would tell them to get a job or go hungry. I bet the lazy bums would put some pep in their step and learn to make their own living. Their will always be sorry ass people that would rather take from people then work for what they have.
