Is it true that cell conversations can be heard by others? I thought with the new digital (not analog) it was impossible to listen in on conversations. I hope it isn't true.. we were thinking about disconnecting our home phone and going totally cell. Where can this information be confirmed?

phone run at certain frequency's, for instance your home phone is 2.5ghz, so if there is crosstalk between cables in the ground, yes, there is a chance you will hear other peoples conversations. As for cell phones, its that same thing, cell phones work at different frequency's in different "cells" or in laymans terms, areas, if another transmit/recieve device is on that exact same frequency, there is the possibility for crosstalk.
This explains why phone internet and television service are so expensive, more and more people are using it, and they all run on the same frequency's.....

The most common example, is in your home...Your cordless phone and wireless router run on the same Ghz, so naturally there is some potential for interrupted frequency's.

Hope this helps...

with the newest digital technology, it is virtually impossible for anyone to listen to cell phone conversations. it use to be possibe in the analog days, and some older cordless phones can still be picked up, but you can't anymore. likewise, the scanners made in the last 10 yrs or so do not have the frequency in them to pick up any phone conversations...i would not worry at all about going to cellular service...speak to one of the techs that work on the cell sites, you should be able to get in touch with one through the cellular company you are planning on using. they can explain it all to you

The FIC is a group created inside the mind of every paranoid resident. An ever powerful group dedicated to destroying the lives of everyone else not in the FIC. They are the most creative and successful people you have ever met. Often they associate, befriend, and entrance those that call themselves "Linden".

Can someone say bluetooth? If your cell uses blue tooth, and you have the blue tooth service on all of the time, yes there's a possibity for others to hear your conversations. Granted digital cell's are far better and more private than the old analog, but the old adage is if you build it, someone will and probably has found a way to hack and or listen into it.
Its amazing what a laptop, a blue tooth sniffer, and some cheap software will let you hear.

The privacy law idiot! It's one the constitutional rights that support our democracy. Whether the person is hiding something or not, this is his/her constitutional right to have the privacy of her/his conversation protected.
