How do others feel about the new suboxone clinic in town? It is called 'Self Refind'. The drs. operating it have 7 other clinics in this state and in Tenn. I know of one case that it has helped, but really it is a trade for one addiction to another. I can not believe the rx drug problem that Ky. has and yet these clinics are enablers along with the drs. that prescribe pain meds and nerve pills to addicts, knowingly! Those who really do need pain meds, or anti-anxiety pills go thru hell to get them. Just curious if anyone had the same thoughts or even knew the clinic was in town. They opened Friday, May 13th.

You are stupid, Do you have any idea how many people have changed their life becouse of the suboxone program. Everyone deserves a chance to get off of street drugs and get their life back. Even if it was just one person like you said above then thats on life saved. It seams like your a drug seeker yourself on hear talkin about how you cant get pain pills and nerve pills bla bla bla you need to have a look in the mirror the next time you call someone a dope head. Do you have any idea how many Doctors and Lawyers and Judges and so on have been hooked on pain and nerve meds and had to go to rehab and get on suboxone? I mean come on do you really think that drugs discriminate because Ill just tell you that they don't. When you think of a druggie I guess you think of some one that wears rags and holds up signs for money right? Change your ways of thinking or you ll end up being miserable because no one will want to be around you

I never called anyone a 'Dopehead'! nor do I think that druggies wear only rags. I know all types of drug addicts, professional people, and down-and-out individuals. I believe in treatments that work and clinics that offer counseling and support systems. Suboxone is a life treatment, trading one addiction for another.Once you are on suboxone, many do not ever get off of the drug. What would anyone want to be addicted to something their entire life? Much less another drug!
Also, I am by far not a drug seeker nor do I look down on those who are addicted to drugs, because I was once addicted to a substance chemical and I was blessed that I had someone who was my support system and thanks to God, I dealt with my addiction without another drug as my crutch. I am one of the lucky ones! so before you go blasting an individual maybe you should look in the mirror and ask yourself, Who am I? and what can I do for the environment around me? How can I help others who can not help themselves? It is easy to point the finger at someone else, but is isn't too nice when the finger gets pointed at you, is it?

Also, Ky. is ranked #1 in the USA as having the worst rx drug problem! Also, rx drugs are rank highest in overdose deaths as compared to people who died from cancer and heart attacks!

Actually The clinic offers more than meds....the do have counseling ..its set up like a therapist office .there is a seperate place if u bring. Your child to play ,....is very plush the counseling is 24/7 anytime your having a meltdown u can call your doctor. They wean u off in less than 2 yrs all med are marked and they keep count ....its all very privet and discrete. No nobody wants that in their back yard but it does. Help people change their life

24/7 counseling available? You can call the dr. anytime? Not true, at least not with these docs! I know from several patients, they have lots of trouble getting in touch with anyone @'Self Refind'. They have problems getting their medicine approved by insurance, if they even have insurance. Each visit to the clinic, you must pay cash upfront before you can even be seen, no insurance pays for suboxone counseling, not yet anyways! So basically you are paying a high priced drug dealer to get you a rx for your fix. There is no counseling, there is no one there that really cares whether or not you need to get help, because it is a cash hog,$$ upfront or nor deal.
I a for helping anyone get better, but lets be real, you have to heal the mind as well as the body, and replacing one drug for another is not how it works.

I can tell you from personal experience, Self Refind is nothing more than legalized drug pushing. The above poster is absolutely correct all they seem to be, are cash hogs. They have locations all over the state and charge a rediculous amount $420.00 per visit in Danville. They then send you a bill for $297.00 dollars for a paneled drug screen, that they seem to do lab work on themselves. That is if you don't have insurance. The people I have spoken to that have insurance don't seem to get this bill for their drug screen. The medicine then cost you about $6.50 per dose which the average prescription they write is probably 75 doses, that is the average of 60 and 90. That means a person without insurance has to pay probably on average about $487.50 per month for the prescription alone. Then the people on Medicaid pay nothing the government (us) foot their bill. Many of them on Medicaid go there pay the $420.00 fee, then sell about half of their presribed doses on the street for about $20.00.
I'll bet the area police start finding Suboxone everywhere after they open. So a person without insurance pays a total of about $1194.00 per month including the drug testing bill that you get later that they never mention. I hate to sound like a hipocrite, since I take it, it does work wonders for those who use it correctly. It does require additional counseling and there are many area doctors that run good programs that actually try to help you for a fraction of the price. I just ended up going to Self Refind because I was on the road all the time, and couldn't make the strict counseling times. These sessions are key for success. I definately wouldn't reccomend Self Refind for people just starting the program. They just don't seem sincere in helping you get off drugs entirely.

You are absolutely right on!!! we foot the the bill for people on medicaid and then they sell the pills on the street and make a fortune off of them. You are right when you say local police will see an incline in suboxone abuse and more deaths will appear because of over dose.
Also, there are good clinics out there that do help and counsel their patients and I have seen great success with some patients. This so called clinic,'Self Refind' is not about helping people, it is about greed and self satisfaction, the docs are getting rich everyday. They call themselves 'Christians', well I would never want to associate with a 'christian', who is greedy, self centered, and a liar!
An to the previous poster 'trying to help', I wish all the good luck in the world and praise you for getting clean. It isn't easy brother! It is one step at a time and one day at a time. Peace!

The sad thing is our law makers are starting to see the problem with medicaid and prescription drugs. The only problem is they think the problem is entirely people that are addicts, are using Medicaid to get their drugs for their own use. When really we have a whole different problem. We have people on Medicaid that don't even
take addictive prescription drugs, but they go get them from doctors just to sell for profit. Our state like many others is broke and this Medicaid for personal profit is making our state bankrupt. Not to mention Kentucky's antiquated way of incarcerating prisoners in county jails and losing money that way. Also the fact that every county has to have a new justice center and jail, when we could make these things regional. Who that breaks the law shouldn't have to make the effort to drive 20-30 miles to a regional jail or regional justice center. Oh well, another subject entirely.
