It sure did look like they were all standing with their backs to the marching field yesterday, while waiting for their turn to perform.

Are you serious.
wow!
you people are seriously stupid if your even gonna dare to talk about Adair county's band!
your just jealous that they win everything.
their GREAT and everyone knows it.
you just wanna have something to talk about and say we have bad sportsmanship cause that's the only even bad thing you can think of to say about them.
o yeah it was like a seventh of a point big deal.

Alot of bands stand with their backs to the band...They dont want to see their competiton and get sidetracked from the task at hand...They are focusing on what they have to do for their show...If you actually go to competitons, watch what other bands do as well.

Excellent job at state Adair! You all make me proud. You all couldnt of done a better job.

Dont let the lame, and stupid remarks of others get you down.

okay well listen to this.
at AC the standard is on trying to be the best and being the best is for us to try and win the trophy.
AC has won state 18 times in a row.
they work their a**es off.

but the championship is won on the practice field, the practices are performed in the stadium.

if you understand this great if you dont sorry about your luck.

Nothing can take away what you all have accomplished, and I know you all have your hopes and dreams set high, nothing wrong with that and you should set your expectations to the limit...But come 1st place, or even last place...Just remember that people are proud of what you guys do, I am proud for what you all have done, and what you will do in the future, win or loose.

Our students, director, and fans were very good sports about not placing first this year. Heads were held high and congratulations were offered. On the other hand... some of our private vehicles were vandalized at the finals. One lady's van was keyed on both sides, one car had the band magnets stolen, and another car was spit on. Thank goodness we have way too much class and kindness to do such things. Stay proud kids! We are all proud of you.

Adair County will hold their head high. They have been raised to be proud and stand tall even in situations where they are not always number 1. Sometimes one judge can make such a big difference. I hate the finals had to end this way.

I was in the band several years ago and know what it is like to be on that field day after day. I think you all do an outstanding job just as those in the past years. You have nothing to be ashamed of only be proud of what you have accomplished. Band is not all about winning, it is about what you gain from being involved with such a fine organization. As those have mentioned earlier it is the sportsmanship, confidence, dedication, discipline, respect, etc. that will last you a life time. Championships are for the moment but the lessons you learn will last you a lifetime. Always remember "Eyes With Pride" no matter the outcome.

what bothered me was they were two color guard at the end of the field after they got done at semi's i don't know if they got to hot or what but they were flat on there back and people working over them and allen just walked up the track and sit down in the stand's to me that just shows you don't care for the kid's that your more worried about wining a trophy.

I have seen this similar scene many times. Please
don't fault Tim Allen for not rushing to the aid
of a child who is being cared for by a qualified
person. There are many band booster parents who
are nurses, EMTs, paramedics, persons certified
for first aid, etc. These people are available when
needed and are ready to aid the kids when needed.
Tim Allen will assist a kid, if needed, but is
smart enough to leave the job to a qualified
person. He knows the ones who have problems
with activity-induced asthma and those who
tend to hyperventilate. He has had special
pockets added to uniforms for inhalers, etc.
He gives instructions to those in charge for
these kids. As a parent, I would much rather
a qualified person be taking care of my child
during an asthma attack instead of a band director who might be much less qualified but
wanting to put a show on for the crowd.

You need to stop the negative comments NOW!! A member of my family was one of the young girls and this was her first time ever collapsing!!! So enough is enough with the remarks! I understand if you KNOW something you may have an excuse to spread gossip, BUT you know nothing about this situation!!

I was not faulting him for not rushing to there aid i know they are people there to take care of them what i was saying is the way he went into the stand's and sat down like he didn't care he at least should have stood there with them to make sure they where all right. would you go to the stand's to watch another band preform while your child lay on the field ?
