I think that beuty pageants are fine. just because a young girl is walking around in a mini skirt and makeup doesn't mean she deserves to be hurt. Also, for anyone who thinks those girls are spoiled, you might be wrong. In all the pictures, they might look likestuck-up, snobby brats. But you shouldn't judge them by how they look. Most Pageants do have talent involved too. Also, I don't think you should blame anyone. Yes, some parents do force their children into a pageant, just to get the money, but some girls do choose to do it. And if that's the case, it's fine. Let's not blame the kids, because they might like to perform, or feel beautyful, or they're trying to get over stage fright, they might even like performing how beautyful they are while trying to get over stage fright. Let's not blame the pageant people. They probably just want girls to be able to show off how beautyful they are. Consider what I am telling you. Pageants are absolutly fine.

Yes a very few moms put the "whore" makeup on their child, but most of the children especially the winners are dressed as princesses with age appropriate make-up. Maybe you should go to one and watch one before you make any decisions, huh? Go to the website: sunburstbeauty.com not only can you find out when the preliminaries will be held in your area but you can also see the winners from the last several years and how the children are dressed. Oh, one more thing they don't give out addresses only state, and sometimes city. YOU MORON!!!!!!!!!!

i think pageants build false self esteem! why would you need someone to tell you your child is beautiful? and as for the hair and make up deal hey its just like playing dress up for them they love it! my 7 y/o loves playing dress up she has a closet full of dresses ,shoe, wigs u name it she's got it! NO i have never put one of my kids in these pageants never and i wont either its stupid!
and as for the perves out there that preys on these little one lets just hope the parents has enough sense to watch and protect their chilren and if they dont they are as much to blame as the perves!

dont take this the wrong way like or nothing but my husband and i have found a way to take advantage of the pervs and use them. our daughters were getting so many inappropriate messages on myspace and their personal webpages we at first made them quit. then we got some software and made their pages for memebers only. they dont post anythign like porn, just innocent family and fun photos. thinsg like the lake, church, sports cheerleading, brownies and girlscout outings and pageant pics. we make sure that our real names arent on the page so they stay safe. after a year and a half we have 2,700 subscribers who pay $10 every month to view their webpages. its totally innocent and safe and we'll be able to pay for college or buy a new car with the money. more of you all shoule try it.

i think these girls are being abused mentally as far as these pageants go. they are forced to do them and i think its wrong. they make these girls look like little woman not nice woman but seductive adults especially when they wear the swimsuits. you dont know who is watching. you got child molestors preying on these kids. and your allowing it because your the ones putting these kids in these pageants.
