I got up yesterday morning to see where the local tree trimming contractors had topped a tree in my lawn. I was surprised to see a half dozen limbs twelve feet long still laying there along with some firewood sized cuttings piled up aginst the tree trunk & still more cuttings around 2 to 3 inches in size pitched around everywhere. I waited until 11:30 today and noticed them comming back down the opposite side of my street in their big yellow truck packed with limbs & when they got out, I went over and asked if they would mind picking up the trash from my lawn that the left yesterday. The trimmer guy told me that they couldn't pick up any limbs of a certian size anymore while leaning on a big yellow truck full of all sizes of limbs. I asked where he got those limbs while his buddy trimmed the tree over our heads & he said he did't know. He agreed to come back over and look at the pile of brush left on my lawn but never did - instead they made their way on down the street & never came back. It looks like I'm going to have to load and haul their brush myself. A person can't go wrong living in Columbia. They have great water, a well designed bypass, a city hall with no pigeon holes. Who could ask for anything more !

Something isn't right. Tree trimming contractors have to have some sort of agreement with whoever is footing the bill. If it's the electric company's trimmers (or whoever) then call that office and give them dates/time when this happened. I beleive it would be worth the time to make a few phone calls in order to get the mess cleaned up.

O.K. I'll give that a try. I still see them driving around town this afternoon. They may be a new company. This year their trucks are bright yellow and not the usual orange ones.

They overcut the tree's as though they are trying to kill them or make them look as bad as possible. The county scalps tree's to such a degree that many die or are mangled thus making a tree lined road a mess for years. Then they turn around the next year and reach a little further over to try and damage any parts of the tree that may of survived the previous years attack.
