I wonder why they couldnt save him, did it take too long to get out there? Or the facilities at WRH are not capable of handling something of this magnitude? I agree, he was very young and he still had a lot of things to do with his son. Its such a shame. As far as I know, he was a good person. Injust.

I think he went to the hospital Saturday with chest pains they gave him some medicine & sent him. I always thought if you go to a hospital with chest pains they at least keep you overnight. Wonder if his death could have been prevented if he had gone to another hospital.

What a shame. To think, had he gone to Taylor county hospital his son might still have a father... Maybe someone should look into this, at least maybe be able to get some money for this tragic loss. I pray we all can learn about who we put our trust in.

I hope Eric's family takes legal action against Westlake hospital. Someone needs to take a stand before they cause another death.

Not sure I would have sent him to Taylor co. My uncle sent home twice. Came to Westlake with a blood clot spent a week at uk on blood thinners. There is one of these stories no matter where you go. Ever think when God calls you home you had better be ready cause there is not a man on this side of heaven that can keep a person here once he is called that includes the best of doctors.

That should be westlakes motto: we don't miss diagnose, sometimes god just call you home. Here in Columbia, we get a lot of calls. Westlake, number one on god's speed dial.

Praying for the family!! It truly saddens me to see people writing hurtful posts when someone passes away. May God comfort this family during this horrific loss!

You happen to be the 2nd person to comment on this and all you can come up with is some negative mumbo-jumbo about the hospital. Just why, for once, can't you show a little courtesy for people who are trying to do something. Who knows why he couldn't be saved. Maybe his heart was damaged to where it had to quit. If you knew him you would also know he has had heart problems since his childhood. But no, you have to start bad-mouthing someone from the gitgo. Here's a little advise- If you can't say anything good about someone, then don't say anything.

You say I shouldnt badmouth "someone", except I wasnt. I already said he was a good person, I knew him. I only know that WRH isnt the best trauma hospital, whether he was "called home" or not, sometimes a great doctor can make all the difference. Thats right, maybe no one could have helped him, but going to WRH, now one will never know. I feel for his family and his son. However, there are things that happen that shouldnt and it has nothing to do with a "god". Thats why there are malpractice suits....

wouldn't put too much stock in Taylor Co. hospital, either. They have sent several home having chest pain a couple or three died as a result and the hospital has been sued.
couldn't go anywhere. Jurors don't want to " Offend" TRH because they mught need to be treated there themselves.

Chest pain does not warrant an overnight stay in the hospital........if your cardiac enzymes are elevated or your EKG is abnormal or has changed then you would be admitted and your heart would be monitored with repeated sets of enzymes drawn. However, if someone had been down and unresponsive for a period of time the chances of reviving them are poor.

Any hospital can make a mistake, but seems like Westlake makes more mistakes than surrounding hospitals. With Erics medical history most hospitals would have taken his symptoms more serious, he should have been monitered for a few hours. Bring in a drunk, or a druggie they will take more time with them.

He had a "great dr", our Heavenly Father is the Great Physician and when he decides to call us home, theres no earthly physician that can save us. Ponder on that.
